VA was previously paying ~$380,000/month for minor website modifications. That contract has not been renewed and the same work is now being executed by 1 internal VA software engineer spending ~10 hours/week.

I'd like to so a follow-up investigation on the relationship between the contractor and the government official who awarded the contract.

cancelling $25M in wasteful DEI grants for $15M in savings, including:

-$265K for Queens College in New York to research “why BIPOC teens” read Japanese comic books
-$250K to erect “LGBTQ+ historical markers” across Ohio
-$140K for the University of South Carolina to create “safe spaces for LGBTQIA+ individuals” in libraries
-$400K for the University of Tennessee to study “LGBTQ+ library users’ metadata”
-$105K to California Association of Museums to address “systemic racism” in museums
-$6.7M for the California State Library to “enhance equitable library programs”
-$1.5M to Connecticut State Library system to “integrate social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion” into their daily work

Note the savings vs the size of the contract. This shows the actual saving this year. Of course the whole amount next year and going forward.

The @USGSA IT team just saved $1M per year by converting 14,000 magnetic tapes (70 yr old technology for information storage) to permanent modern digital records.

This agency, started in 1961 by JFK, Had good intentions when first started, but it's always possible that they may have become a little top heavy over time so..... no harm in taking a look to see if any streamlining needs to be done or a course correction needed.....

- Avoided“gendered adjectives” or “faint praise”
- Asked local organizations to “promote DEIA training/programs/lectures” and “annual DEIA awards ceremon[ies]“ or focused foreign law enforcement cooperation on “racial and gender justice issues”
- Set race/gender quotas on embassy speaking panels and at other diplomatic events

DOGE helps Coast Guard save nearly $33M by eliminating 'ineffective IT program'

The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has helped the U.S. Coast Guard save $32.7 million by eliminating an "ineffective IT program" known as the Logistics Information Management System (CG-LIMS), the Department of Homeland Security confirmed to Fox News Digital.

"Another win for government efficiency at DHS!" Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem said in a statement to Fox News Digital on Monday. "Continuing the crucial work of DOGE, the Coast Guard eliminated an ineffective IT program, saving over $32 million and focusing its resources where they’re most needed to protect the homeland. The USCG continues to deliver on the President’s priorities, maximizing its efficiency while securing our borders and maritime approaches."

Originally anticipated to begin operating in 2027 and reaching full capability in 2031, the CG-LIMS was expected to integrate existing and future capabilities with the Coast Guard while supporting operations.

has been working to right size the federal real estate portfolio, which is liable for more than $20+ billion in deferred maintenance. So far, the team has sold 13 buildings and listed an additional 68 (8.3M square feet).

As an example, @USGSA
sold a vacant building in Ogden, UT for $3.6M (also saving $20M+ in deferred maintenance) to the City of Ogden. The city is partnering with a private developer to provide the necessary improvements in order to make the asset useful.

An initial survey of Unemployment Insurance claims since 2020 revealed the following:
- 24.5k people over 115 years old claimed $59M in benefits
- 28k people between 1 and 5 years old claimed $254M in benefits
- 9.7k people with birth dates over 15 years in the future claimed $69M in benefits

In one case, someone with a birthday in 2154 claimed $41k.

On the http://IRS.gov website, the "log in" button was not in the top right on the navbar like it is on most websites. It was weirdly placed in the middle of the page below the fold.

An IRS engineer explained that the *soonest* this change could get deployed is July 21st... 103 days from now.

This engineer worked with the DOGE team to delete the red tape and accomplished the task in 71 minutes. See before/after pictures below.

There are great people at the IRS, who are simply being strangled by bureaucracy.

This is the price of a database that is not kept accurate. The SSI number is a key to scamming money (fraud) from many government agencies.

Under the Biden administration, it was routine for Border Patrol to admit aliens into the United States with no legal status and minimal screening. So far, CBP identified a subset of 6.3k individuals paroled into the United States since 2023 on the FBI's Terrorist Screening Center watchlist or with criminal records. These paroles have since been terminated with immediate effect.

Despite having no other legal status, paroled aliens are able to file for work authorization and receive social security numbers. Among these 6.3k paroled aliens with criminal or terrorist records (all have a social security number):
- 905 collecting Medicaid (including 4 on the terrorist watch list). $276k was paid out
- 41 collecting Unemployment Insurance, receiving $42k in benefits
- 22 received federal student loans totaling $280k
- 409 received {net} tax refunds (2024 only) for $751k
- Several (final number TBD) received SNAP (food stamp) benefits

for inking its first consolidated deal following the President’s Executive Order: Eliminating Waste and Saving Taxpayer Dollars by Consolidating Procurement.

With this deal, GSA effectively used government-wide buying leverage to secure a 71% price reduction for Workspace, which will be available to all federal agencies. This will be the first of many bulk discounts as a result of centralized procurement.
