Quote:Preseason isn't real. Why are people complaining about stats and play, but at the same time complaining about the cost of preseason tickets because it's not real?

Anyone?

Hmmmm.... Is Chad Henne real?
Quote:Prove otherwise? House was a nickle in GB. Prince was not a starter. And gratz stunk on Uconn.

You cant compare what players did in the past to the present.. Because players can get better or worst. Depending on a lot of different variables.. Before we judge these players lets, let the season begin first...
Quote:I disagree, he has the counter moves (inside swim, inside spin, and a bull rush)...he just doesn't have the first necessary move (a scary pure outside speed/bend rush) that allow the counters to work.

No one would be scared of Freeney's spin move if he didn't have a terrifying outside speed rush for the spin to counter off of. Until he learns that he's just gonna be a good run stopper that gets the occasional sack from a good scheme or from cleaning up after Malik or whatnot creates pressure somewhere else.

Semantics.  Regardless of the reason why, his counter moves are ineffective.  If he doesn't beat the blocker off the snap, he's glued to them.  I think a lot of the problem is his overall lack of power.  He has great speed to power, but in a box, he can't move a 300 pound tackle.  Once Dante breaks stride, he's done.
Quote:Fowler had the most QB hits in the draft. 17 QB hits was the most I have seen from an edge rusher out of college.
not to mention he dropped in coverage a good bit as well
Quote:Okay fair enough.
Didn't stand your ground for that long did ya?
After reading a Jeff Fish article and his contract extension, I can't help but think we are poised to make the same mistake.  So are we poised to be a team that is all potential but stymed by the coaching staff?  A perpetual 7-9 record with a wait till next year mantra?  Going to be a lot to watch this year.

7-9 better not cut it this year.

If he gets an extension with that record and this roster, Khan is an idiot.

Considering he's good through next year already, I could see them keeping him at 7-9 but not extending him.
I've been saying for years we need a different backup QB and everyone called me a troll. Smh.

People become complacent with garbage... They dont like the ideas of people who wanna take the trash out..

You guys can't wait 1 year for the change at qb2? It's clear they are grooming Allen for that role. No sense in signing a vet qb to a multi year deal when you just drafted your backup.

Noo not if it can cost us potentially a shot at the playoffs. Why wait is the question?

What backup is leading this team to the playoffs?
Sometimes we argue about this stuff as if we were actually going to make the decision.

Offense: Looks like they're a step ahead of where they were at last year.

Defense: The DE's are getting better pressure, but the pocket still isn't collapsing fast enough. Starting corners look improved.

Special Teams: Still looks like Meyers is kicking the ball with a lot of right to left movement... can't have that much longer.

Penalties: Probably high because the coaches told them to get it out now before the regular season starts.. come-on, who wouldn't throw Winston to the ground if they knew it wouldn't really count.

Fowler: Getting penetration, but still not where he needs to be. Maybe that knee is slowing him down a little.

O-Line: The front 5 are moving the line of scrimmage. The backups are what scare me. If one guy on the line goes down, the Jaguars are going to have problems replacing them. They need more depth at RT and LT.

Who said anything about leading? But i can definitely say Chad Henne isnt..
This weeks game will be a little telling. . At least some game planning goes into this week of the preseason and starters will be playing at least till halftime.
I mean everyone has to be encouraged so far even if it's preseason. The Jets are a "playoff" team and the Bucs are up and coming (Winston ranked ahead of Bortles in QB rankings).

If Julius catches that ball against the Jets, the Jaguars score TD's on all 4 offensive drives. That's crazy good.

Special Teams is honestly the biggest problem I see right now.

The financial side of football doesn't work that way. Allen would have to prove to be a complete dumpster fire as well as Henne before they go out and sign a vet.
Quote:Also, Julius Thomas has been invisible.

He has. Blake tends to look downfield for the big play but hopefully with the emphasis on being more efficient and increasing the completion percentage he'll rely on Thomas as the checkdown/safety valve.
