Dont forget all the elite's body guards.  they are armed.

when they say gun control, they aren't talking about themselves.  it's only the common folk.  kinda like when they say, "global warming is real, reduce your carbon footprint" while getting on their private jet.

Quote:America where in 2015 you were more likely to be killed by a toddler than a terrorist...

I'm sure that's true in Australia also.

Our "toddler's" first shot with a handgun was dead center bullseye from 7 meters, and he handles a .357 carbine as well as I do.

Right. I still remember when that bastard Clinton dissolved our military.
Quote:1. I can get a license for a gun if I wanted to or go to a gun range?

2. Do you leave your guns lying around? If not number 2 isn't happening anyway.

Thanks for confirming something I suspected, you know absolutely nothing about firearms.

Why don't you go to a gun range some day and learn a little bit about them.  Don't worry, there's nothing to be afraid of.  Then you can discuss the subject from a somewhat more informed point of view.

I didn't mention anything about firearms apart from my ability to get them in this country which you suggested I couldn't?

I would rather go to the beach, the footy , the pub etc. Shooting at a target sounds as boring as fishing.

You didn't have to state it, it's obvious to anyone who is familiar with them.

To each his own with the recreational activities.  Just don't expect your comments to be taken seriously when you know nothing and are afraid to learn.  Ignorance is bliss for some I suppose.

I'm not afraid thats the point. You guys keep saying you need a gun because you are scared. I can't identify with that feel of fear of random people trying to shoot my family
Carry a Gun?  - by John Farnum

"Police Protection" is a contradiction of terms!   Police rarely stop crimes from taking place.  Rather, we spend most of our time investigating offenses, after the damage has been done, and after innocent victims have been permanently disabled/deformed or murdered.

Accordingly, I carry a gun, because I'm too young to be murdered, and too old to suffer crippling injury at the hands of violent criminals.

Thus:

I don't go armed, because I harbor a secret desire to kill people, any more than I wear a seat belt while driving, because I have some compulsive desire to become involved in traffic accidents!

I don't carry a gun, so that I can scare people.  I carry a gun, because the world is a scary place!

I don't carry a gun as a delusional response to imaginary threats.  I carry a gun, so that I can deal effectively with real threats!

I don't carry a gun, because I'm evil.  I carry a gun, because I've already seen more evil than I ever wanted to!

I don't carry a gun, because I hate government.  I carry a gun, because I've seen how  woefully limited and impotent all governments are!

I don't carry a gun, because I'm angry.  I carry a gun, so that I won't have to spend the  rest of my shortened life being angry with myself for being naively  unprepared.

I don't carry a gun, because I want to become involved in a lethal confrontation.  I carry a gun, because I want to die of old age, surrounded by family, in my own bed, not alone and hemorrhaging on a dirty street.

I don't carry a gun, because I'm a Cowboy.  I carry a gun because, when I die (of old age) and go to Heaven, I want to be a Cowboy!

I don't carry a gun, because it makes me feel like a man.  I carry a gun because real men know how to take care of themselves, and the ones they love, and do so without apology!

I don't carry a gun because I'm  "inadequate."  I carry a gun, because, when unarmed and facing three brutish thugs, I am inadequate!

I don't carry a gun, because I love doing it.  I carry a gun, because I love life!

I've never bought a gun because I was scared.  I buy them because I enjoy owning and shooting them.  They just happen to have the added benefit of being excellent self-defense weapons.

PS  Thanks for finally admitting that you're preaching about gun control despite the fact that you;  a) have no actual gun knowledge and b) can't identify with your own (erroneous) perception that the underlying motive for ownership is fear.

Nobody ever says they own because guns are fun though? They keep saying self defence is the main reason? I can understand the Fun thing.

By the way I live in a country that had issues with Mass shootings. They brought in gun control and now have had no mass shootings in 20 years and the homicide rate is at record lows. I know plenty more about gun control than you do .

PS they are terrible self defence unless you know in advance someone is going to start shooting at you or have it to hand.

We've already covered that your country didn't have that problem except when your government was slaugtering the natives. Your law took away your rights in exchange for solving an almost non-existent problem. But to each their own.

Weirdly enough you would be hard pressed to find many Australians who would agree with your assessment...

come over and ask around...

LOL.  Bringing a knife to a gunfight is the last mistake you'll ever make.

Whats the obsession with weapons? I don't carry a knife around either? Have never come across a gun fight either funnily enough.

But hey we don't have everyone tooled up here so no worries.

So you're saying that despite gun control you can still get guns and because of gun control there aren't any more mass shootings?

What's the deal with you Aussies?  Are mass shootings a convenience thing over there?  Do you wake up thinking, "I'd love to shoot a bunch of people today, but the paperwork is such a hassle. I'll just go to brunch instead"?
I don't think you get it.

This probably explains it a bit better.

Get it just fine. Now we just have to shrink our population down to 10%, completely alter our Constitution, convince everyone that the cops (whom a large demographic are scared of) will arrive within 10 seconds, and develop an illegal gun vaporizer to seek and destroy the millions of guns out in the population.

Simple enough.
On the constitution....What about the poor 18th Amendment? Why's nobody stick up for that?

Quote:On the constitution....What about the poor 18th Amendment? Why's nobody stick up for that?

Well booze (or the lack there of) wasn't a corner stone of getting our independence from a tyrannical govermment so people weren't quick to hold on to that one.

Why did you address the hard point but not the easy issues like making that vaporizer, disappearing 90% of the population, and working on police teleporters?
A slow internet connection and my early work on the Civil Servant 9000 jet pack caused me to accidentally post that 3 times. I won't be distracted next time.
