I'm sorry but that one play week 5 was why I soured on Corey Grant. I remember thinking "why is he in the game (as a rookie) when we need a sustained drive to put the dagger in?" and then of course he trys to break a big play and fumbles the ball... along with our momentum in the game... and essentially our lead which we'd never regain in an otherwise winnable game. His hands and ball security don't inspire any more confidence in me than Denard's.

Denard Robinson is also fumble prone so its really whoever performs in preseason and holds onto the ball

I can agree, but keep in mind that Corey has only had the one fumble, and it came during his first few weeks as a rookie. DRob, on the other hand, continues to fumble as a vet.

Quote:How on Earth can you make any of these declarations?  He has 6 career regular season carries for 2 (2!!!) yards  Even if you want to discount that fumble play, he's 5 for 19 yards.  He's got a whole 2 receptions for 13 yards.

Maybe your entire opinion is made up on preseason?  He's 10 for 82 yards and a TD.  5 and 74 came in the final preseason game, including that 40 yard TD.  That means he's 5 for 8 yards in games against players that actually contributed in the regular season.

Dude has incredible speed, but that is all that he's shown, and you're acting like he's the best and most talented RB on the team.  Maybe he'll become something more, but you're really jumping the gun on this and really blowing up what his talents are.

I realize Corey doesn't have the stats as he was shut down early as a rookie when the team placed him on IR. I became enticed with Corey since studying the Jaguars initial list of undrafted free agents. As I looked for articles and film on the new players, Grant's speed stood out. There was video's of him running his 40, but it was this video that really caught my eye...

I kept an eye on his number and noticed that every time he touches the ball he's making a big play. The percentage of his plays in practice that makes you say "wow" is incredibly high. In other words, he's made the most of limited reps. He stood out in last year's Preseason, and he's had several head turning runs in camp this year breaking out with seeming ease every time he touches the ball. Meanwhile, on KRs it appears he's an absolute beast so much so that they appear intent on limiting Greene to punt returns.

I remember Corey grant dropping a critical touchdown pass that most likely cost us the game. I forget against which team.
He doesn't seem to take advantage of his opportunities, and denard has at least been productive and put together 100 yard games in the past.

DRob has had many opportunities in which he's failed to take advantage. As for Corey, he simply hasn't had many opportunities in actual games, and while he failed to take advantage of the few he's had, he has most definitely taken advantage of every opportunity he's had in practice and in Preseason games. Also keep in mind that he did have one nice run in a game that was called back on a penalty by someone else.

Dodgy title.  Should be called Ill-Founded Corey Praising Part XVIII

Keep at it CG
