I realize in Florida this might not have been in your faces everyday. In NY and NJ in the 80's all this was just "sort of accepted." Just saying - reading the posts here it seems most posters did not follow the don's dealings like we did. Would you vote for John Gotti?

Here is how he conducts "business". You want the country run by a man fleecing investors, pilfering profits, and who believes his name alone commands UUUGE personal profits while the business fails? Me neither.

Hush, he just knew how to play the game.

If there's one thing Trumpette's admire, it's unabashed thuggery.

Go to sleep people.
Wasn't it pretty much a given that if you built anything in NYC in the 80's you had to deal with the mob?

That was just the '80s?!
Politico, NY Times posting negative things about Trump??? Go for the trifecta and post a link to the Huffington Post while you are at it.

True...pretty much any time. Lol

Uh... No.

He's the king of debt... Believe me... It's a good thing republicans love driving up debt and then declaring bankruptcy in order to get a discount on the repayment rates.

I can't believe republicans haven't figured out how to over leverage the full faith and credit of the USA, until now. Clearly he is a business genius who's expertise in bankruptcy and not paying contracts will do our nation well.

Yes, both the Casa Nostra and the Dons sitting in the Mayor's Office.

MOB ROLE IN NEW YORK CONSTRUCTION DEPICTED

Special to the New York Times

Published: April 30, 1988

WASHINGTON, April 29— Organized crime controls 75 percent of the construction industry in New York City through its control over the concrete industry and construction unions, an admitted mob captain told Senators today.

Vincent (Fish) Cafaro, a former captain in the Genovese organized-crime family in New York, told the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations that the Mafia rigged contracting bids in the city by demanding a 2 percent kickback from winning bidders and their unions.

''Legitimate guys ain't got a chance,'' he said.

He explained that the system was arranged by the ''Two Percent Club,'' an organization run by some of New York's largest mob families: the Genoveses, Gambinos, Luccheses and Colombos. #25 Years After Valachi Mr. Cafaro was the last of several current and former mobsters to testify before the subcommittee, which is reviewing the status of organized crime 25 years after Joseph F. Valachi described to the panel the Mafia's vast criminal enterprises.
Today I learned 75% is equal to 100%.
The 80s? When Guiliani cleaned up corruption? So he only cleaned up 25% ? Did not know that.

75% of the construction industry. 100% of the concrete industry and construction unions.

No one said 100%, but you have to admit that 75% is huge and probably really hard to get around working with at some point.
Have any of you who are giving Trump a pass because "you had to deal with the mob to be successful in New York" actually read the entire articles linked by the OP? He didn't just deal with the mob, he was in bed with them. He hired underpaid illegal immigrants. He bankrupted small businesses involved with his Atlantic City ventures, personally pocketing hundreds of millions of dollars while passing on debt to bond and shareholders. His casino license application was magically rubber stamped even in the face of activities which would get many operators shut down. The list goes on and on. But it's ok, everyone had to do it...

...if they wanted to make money. Greed almost excuses everything, and as for what it doesn't, well everyone else is doing it.

To paraphrase an infamous moment during a Trump interview, that's the argument of a 5 year old, not a Presidential candidate.

Yeah, so vote Hillary, pure as the freshly driven snow!

With all due respect, that's a juvenile response, and a standard deflection I admittedly expected. I'll assume sarcasm.
