We need to disarm the public so this doesn't happen again. We can't have vigilantes going around stopping crimes.

They can have my gun when they pry it out of my cold, dead hands.

i think that's the objective unfortunately
Quote:Here's what you can learn about the USA. 300 million people. 40% reportedly own firearms. Fully half that would outright refuse a confiscation. Do you want to fight, kill, or incarcerate 40 MILLION people like me? Because that's the scale you're talking about, and it would be a bloodbath for both sides.

So you want to get locked up/start a war over having certain guns at home? You are very strange people. Lucky the Aussies were a bit more sensible eh?

You can take the colonists out of the prison, but you can't take the prison out of the prison colony. Still trapped in there own minds those Aussies. Luckily your government doesn't abuse you, for now, cause you guys have no resort if they do.

I prefer being responsible for my own safety. Calling the police and waiting for them is not sensible in a life or death situation.

I look at it like having a fire extinguisher. I don't think it makes me a fireman but I like having the extinguisher to handle potential fire issues in a pinch.

I love that analogy.

Over here we occasionally have a problem slightly more serious than a few unruly wallabies eating the crops.

Do you know anything at all about our country? Did you miss the "shot heard around the world" in your history or literature classes?

Wonder why JDub never comes down here, she would fit right in.

So you keep your gun just hanging off your wall? That seems kind of irresponsible...

No I keep it loaded and hanging precariously by a hook below my sink in case I have to shoot grease fires.

Might surprise but there wasn't too much American history taught in Britain. Who would have thought that there would be enough history in Europe to cover first ..
Quote:Still no mass shootings in Australia since the gun reforms. All the bad guys must have left...
It's amazing how every civilized country with gun control has virtually no random mass shootings and yet the country that does have random mass shootings is utterly convinced gun control doesn't work.

Sounds like they're still in denial about losing one of the colonies.
