Bolt has long speed like Matt Jones
Quote:I want to see Bolt break the WR again in his final olympics. Would be awesome if he runs flat out the entire 100m. This slowing down looking back stuff looks fun but in his final games it would be special to show us exactly how fast he can go.

I think he's already reached his peak and won't be able to beat the WR again. As a non juicer he's slowing down getting closer to 30 rather than speeding up
Swedes beat out USA in fussball. Then Hope Solo goes on a rant and call them for " cowardly play". This girl has some anger issues. Maybe she should listen to her dad, Hans , and not make wookie mistakes and accept a loss with grace and keep her mouth shut.

The green water in the diving pool? Another black eye on Rio. Then there's the robberies.

That's my rant. Still enjoy the competitions. But I don't think Rio will get rave reviews.

Word is the 49ers have his rights.
Out of all my years of watching the olympics, Rio has had to been the worst host.. Everything from the opening ceremony, to the maintenance of the diving pool, to security for athletes and fans.. Total disaster and I can't wait for it to end.. Just boring all around..

And the almost empty venues. I can't recall an empty seat in Beijing and London but I keep seeing empty seats even in events the Brazilians have a decent shot at a medal.
On a more positive note; I have no interest in gymnastics but the Dutch commentator is so damn enthusiastic and knowledgeable it's a joy to listen to him. And Simone Biles may have just lost herself a fourth medal.

Simone Biles touches the beam and still gets third place.  I couldn't imagine being on that beam, but it happens.

America gets 2nd/3rd.  Pretty good.

Simone Biles will go after 2 more golds in the coming days.  The most ridiculous thing is Laurie Hernandez was 4th in the floor routine, but because only two per country can compete, she's not allowed.  Gymnastics has some dumb rules.  If a country has the top 5 gymnasts in the world, they should all get to compete for the win.

And who got first?
I'm pretty sure you already clarified that....

I don't think I have and even so, I want to see you post it.

I think the problem is that Brazil are so useless at most sports that they can't get in to them as non of the locals have a hope. Also with a very poor population most can't go anyway. Was never going to be as good as London.

I've seen every olympics from 92 and would rank them:

Barcelona (Was my first olympics - So undeservadly top. Also one of the worlds great looking cities)

London (Basically perfect hosts in a great world city)

Sydney (Same as above)

Beijing (spectacular and different)

Athens (The spiritual home)

Atlanta (Nothing wrong with the games as such - but a boring city to host)

Rio (City looks great on tv - shame the hosting is terrible)
I was thinking the same thing how beautiful the aerials look, but then you see the trash on the beach, and how unprepared they are its a shame. The Brazilian fans are very rude, even one of the commentators said how dare you show support for your own as country as the Brazilian booed when the other fans cheered for their own team.

Just saw the beam routines, not sure how Hernandez doesn't get the gold?

Track and Field stand pretty empty last night for some good events. The Brazilians fans are some of the worst I ever seen.

Because she ended half her moves off balance?
I think saying half of her moves were off balance was a tad disingenuous.  She had a couple where she wobbled a tad, but nothing major.  As far as judging I have no idea what goes into scoring and difficulty, but she was pretty darn good.

I know, I was trolling just a bit. But looking at the scores, Wevers' difficulty score was 6.6 versus Hernandez' 6.4. So Hernandez was two tenths down before she even started and she couldn't make up the difference in execution, partly because Wevers didn't make any major mistakes either.

Re: Hernandez -> I love her personality.  She's been rooting for her teammates throughout the Olympics and unlike some of her other teammates, you can tell it is genuine,

It's very interesting that Hernandez was actually #2 during the USA Tryouts but was limited in her events due to favoritism of the other teammates that are more highly recognized.
