Another gold for the Dutch as we move up to #7 in the medal table. 

I don't think favoritism had anything to with it and its the reason they won the gold, as a team they were just leagues better than the rest.  The team put the best person for the event on the floor. If you were good at beam, you did beam and so on. Has nothing to do with where you finished in comp or trials.

The Olympics needs to be USA vs every other country combined.

I knew the second I saw that interview where he was saying the guy put the gun to his forehead and he replied with "Whatever man". Kid has never had a gun to his head and if he did  he would piss himself. He got caught in a blatant lie and that's that. Completely foolish and possibly criminal.

That's because NBC (understandably) only shows the events where the US is almost certain to win a medal. It's a bit of a skewed view

Almost certain? There's nothing certain out there.

Try watching the BBC,

I've seen many many many events where the US didn't win medals.  Heck, the NBC company is showing werestling and there isn't a dog in the fight for Greco wrestling.  Numerous athletes in track and field aren't winning.

I agree. I was telling my wife the whole story was weird and made no sense.
