Let's make believe we were going to get a retractable roof stadium as a replacement....   How would you do it?  Shipyards?

I doubt it ever happens. Thinking (very) long term, I think you will see something similar to what happened in Kansas City, Green Bay, New Orleans and Miami where you just see continued improvements to the existing stadium instead of building a brand new one. The team and the city have done a great job the last decade of keeping the stadium updated.

They wouldn't build one because it's cost prohibitive.  The closest we'll get to a covered stadium is if we do what was originally presented over a y ear ago and they put up canopies over each side of the stadium.  Miami has stolen the idea and is actually doing precisely that with their renovations.

Here's what Miami is doing, and i could see something very similar being done here eventually.

Personally, I think ours is cooler looking, and we never miss an opportunity to use blank space for advertising with Lamping in charge.

Obviously, there would need to be a tweak or two to account for the amphitheater and practice fields that will be sitting on the land where the canopy originates.

I drive a Toyota. Cataracts are too expensive!

This looks like something from the 70s in comparison to the other one that was shown.

The other one looks like a giant tent that would cover us fans getting roasted. It looks cost effective.

I would rather have this one. The giant tent.

Are they trying to make it like a soccer stadium? By far the coolest stadium I have ever seen is Bayern Munich's stadium in Germany. The Allianz arena.

Waiting for Han Solo and Chewbacca to climb out of the roof

If we ever get a real hurricane the whole thing will probably get blown into space so.........
Ground breaking Friday. They will also unveil the name of the facilities, likely to include a new corporate partner.

Looks really good. Wasn't a new practice field also proposed? Is that project in limbo?

Article states ampitheater and covered flex field. Sounds like the entire south end zone area will be this part of the facility. Based on Shad's interview a few weeks ago he has stated that he envisions this to change the landscape of Jacksonville much like the Sydney Opera does. Whether it does that or not it will be awesome to see the final drawings and then the final product.
