The years leading up to that release, he had an attitiude about any question related to the incident and never mentioned he couldn't discuss it for legal reasons.

Is it surprising that a party to pending litigation is advised to refrain from publicly commenting on the subject matter of said litigation and the party follows the advice of his lawyer(s)?
Why should that be held against him?

Well if that was the case, responding with "due to pending legal issues, I can't comment" is a far better response than what Mixon came up with during that time period. That is why it doesn't pass the sniff test for me.
Quote:Sort of...maybe...
I'm trying to recall the results of the case where a woman was nearly assaulted on an elevator, only she was an olympic martial arts expert and ended up whooping the guys. As I recall they punished her because it was an unfair fight.
So then it's possible one woman against two or more men, to say nothing of the one male in the Mixon case could be an unfair fight in favor of the woman?

That is a perfectly understandable response.
I am just juxtaposing his apology and your response to his apology with your statement that if he were to offer anything approaching an apology-even if fake-would result in everyone forgetting the deed.
Nobody on this board has forgotten his deed, and apparently neither have the Pats, and I suspect many other fans and teams.

I was speaking about going forward. If 10 years from now Mixon hasn't so much as picked up a speeding ticket, no one will likely even mention the punch. Ray Lewis is proof of that.
Quote:So why aren't women playing NFL football? ...or for that matter boxing?
They do when they're able.
Quote:I mean, I disagree. I think what he did was bad enough to be incarcerated for many years, let alone even bothering to discuss his NFL opportunities. There's that fundamental disagreement thing.
Edit: youre right. Owner to owner, person to person, we're all gonna have different opinions on this one I suppose. I can accept that. Doesn't make me a bigot btw, flsprtswad.
Sure it does, you think girls oughta be treated different then men, you won't let them be equals because they need protecting. Had she been a guy you'd probably give this whole incident little thought, but since the plumbing is different...
Coming from the streets. It looks to me like. Dude was her new bf.
And he was mad. She slapped him but he was looking for a fight.
Where he messed up. If had an issue should of hit dude. And than its a non issue.
In the sense of another dude was sleeping with my girl. People can relate to that.
Even if dude was sleeping with her. And she said he is better in bed than you. Or I love him. He had zero right to hit her.
Also he started to swing prior to slap hiring his face. So either way she was going to get hit.
So in this case he is wrong. Based on the way he walked in looked liked under some sort of alcoholic drink or substance.

I heard differently, like that little white guy in the video was her gay friend or something and Mixon used a slur against him and the other way around.

It's moot anyway. There is no justifying what he did.
Jags to bring in Joe Mixon this week
