Yep. Did you see Adrian Peterson versus the Seahawks/49ers?
His success, like Yeldon, will depend upon the OL.  Ivory is a solid back.

It's surprising to me how many experienced commentators see the Ivory signing as some kind of indication that Yeldon has been disappointing.

Teams need more than one running back.   When Yeldon went out last year, we suffered.   Whether Ivory starts or backs up, he will be a real good addition.

You crack me up.
I am a fan of Yeldon ..  Ivory is a great pickup that will only make TJ Yeldon better.

That's what I love about Caldwell, he just keeps stacking the shelves..

It'd be nice to see him get 8 to 10 touches a game. He has consistency throughout his career (4ypc). I loved him with the saints but always questioned why he doesn't get the rock more. The truth is he gives you what you see and not more. A sure thing isn't a bad thing.
Quote:He led the AFC in rushing last season. I say 1000+ yards again.

Yeldon is getting 50 50 split carries.
Start with Yeldon, finish with Ivory.

Unless your name is Doug Martin, if you're a RB who played the Jaguars, you struggled.

The game proved how Poz is extremely valuable to the run game.
I found 10 large ivory walrus Tusks at a house I was remodeling. I turned them over to fish and game cuz they hecka illegal

This.

I have liked Ivory as a player since he was with New Orleans and was ecstatic with the deal we signed him to.

But if this OL doesn't show serious improvement, we can't expect miracles.

Like Felix Jones and Marion Barber back when the Cowboys were good. 2008 maybe 2009ish if I remember correctly.
They'll both play; Yeldon's been injury prone since his college days, and Ivory seems to miss a game or two with minor bang ups just based on how violently he runs. Having 2 of them is essential as we have a bellcow to soak up carries if the other is unavailable.

Also living in NY, ive seen ivory play, inexplicably the jets would lean on him for the first drive, hed rack up 60 yards .. and then not get a touch the rest of the game; it was baffling seeing him be effective and then just not utilized at times.

I think Ivory is the starter but Yeldon is a good 1B and we'll likely see a 60-40 timeshare and having packages for each of them in certain situations. If you give Ivory the ball, he's a sledgehammer that will wear down opposing defenses and open things up for Yeldon as well as the rest of the offense

I think adding Chris Ivory is a big plus for our running game. It allows Yeldon to get less carries which may keep him healthy. Ivory is more of a ground and pound back, yet he has more speed, so this combo should be pretty deadly on the field.  Freddy and Mojo are the past. Yeldon and Ivory are the future.

Ivory > Yeldon. He runs harder and actually breaks away more.

Quote:When thinking of his power as a big back, kind of picture how Fred Taylor was. "Power" wasn't his primary game, but he had it when he wanted to use it. Ivory is big and has power, but he'll look to avoid contact first. He's not Gerhart.
he toyed with people would give em the wiggle then lower the shoulder
