I'd give it an A.  Myles Jack + Jalen Ramsey.  Sheldon Day was a good pick too.  Would have been nice to trade down in the third, but it might not have been available.  I think Billings was a bit young (He won't be 21 until next year).  The only pick I didn't like at all was the 7th rounder, but it was a 7th rounder.  A little disappointed we didn't get Jack Allen, but nobody drafted him.  Would have been an A+ if we got Jack Allen in the 7th.

We got so much depth, that you probably won't even think of Jack Allen when we are dumping on the Packers in week 1.

I think a lot just fell to them.BUT, you still have to be smart enough to see it. It had been done wrong too much in the past. I have to give them an A.

In Week 1 both teams will have short injury reports. We will not need depth players - just the normal rotational guys. But the Packers will have their starters too, so I don't see us "dumping" them with draft picks.

Depth guys are rotational guys...subpackage players.

When Fowler gets tired, we roll out Yanny, then we roll out Jack, etc.

I see us bullying them in the trenches and with our secondary.
My only question is did we go too heavy in the later rounds drafting sort of one-dimensional pass rushers who are developmental, may not make the team, or not likely to play the other LB positions?

Not a question that can really be answered until these kids all get some professional seasoning.

Ramsey excellent, but Myles depends on knee which will probably go kaboom. The Maryland de/olb is just another Ryan Davis. And last three will probably be just bench warmers, practice squad players that will eventually get cut.

Smh I would live to know who you would of drafted.

By depth guys I mean backups who only play if someone gets hurt.
I voted B....

Rounds 1-3 is an A

Rounds 4-7 is a C
It was a great draft for the Jaguars. The only drawback IMO is that they did nothing to solidify the depth on the offensive line. I don't think a developmental QB is gonna help the offense. Yes, the offense is already 'bulit' but injuries could chip away at that side of the ball and I'd like to have a little more depth at O-line and TE. Like Dave said though you can't address all of your holes in one draft.

A
Blake Bortles was supposed to be a developmental quarterback. Who knows what rate Branden Allen will become a very capable backup?

I think Dave Caldwell would have picked a guard or center with the fifth round pick he gave up for Myles Jack. Of course we all know there was no better way to use it.

All draft grades at this point are an I (Incomplete).

But in three years if this class isn't graded out as an A, I will know the Marino curse is real.

QBs drafted 3rd overall are never developmental quarterbacks. Developmental QBs are taken in later rounds like what the Jags did this year and the Packers did last year with Hundley.
Jaguars get an A solely based on getting Ramsey and Jack. Two future multiple pro bowl level talents that both address a significant need means you had a great draft. If any of the other guys turn out to be significant contributors then the draft was an A+.

Maybe they feel Shatley is where he needs to be. I would expect some waiver wire pick up for interior depth. But there's so much to like about this draft.

And all I heard was how Auguyo in the 5th would have been horrible... Wink
I think this is going to compete with 1996 as the best draft in the Jaguars history.

I think 2014 could possibly rival 1996 for the best draft class in their history. If 2016's is as good as 2014's, I'll be thrilled.
It's been a long, long time since I have last posted. What better time than to share this board's post-draft euphoria.

The pieces are available, now it's on the players, coaches, and front office. The fan base is all on. It's going to be a fun year.

Jacksonville Jaguars: Jacksonville Jaguars: A+ Grade
Goals Entering the 2016 NFL Draft: It's all about improving the defense. The Jaguars have eight selections in the 2016 NFL Draft, and it wouldn't surprise me if as many as seven were used to improve the horrible stop unit. The offensive line also needs to be bolstered, but the defense is the first, second and third priority.

2016 NFL Draft Accomplishments: It's pretty crazy that the Jaguars will be adding three top-five draft prospects to their defense next year. Of course, there's Jalen Ramsey, who might have been the top player in the entire 2016 NFL Draft. Then, Jacksonville nabbed Myles Jack in the second round, despite the fact that he was also under consideration at No. 5 overall. Jack, of course, fell because teams were worried about his knee. Those concerns were quelled once Dr. James Andrews came out and said that Jack wouldn't need microfracture knee surgery. Add in Dante Fowler, who missed all of 2015, and Jacksonville's defense is set to improve by leaps and bounds this upcoming season.

The Jaguars absolutely killed it. Ramsey and Jack were outstanding picks, as were Sheldon Day and Tyrone Holmes on Day 3. In fact, Jacksonville didn't select a single player who was graded below a "B" until the seventh round.

Jacksonville appears to have put together the best draft class. And there's really not much to say beyond that. Bravo. Easy A+.
