When you say Daves name, put some respeck on it. All tree of yall!
Dave's first draft may end up being a little shaky, but the majority of that draft class was weak.  He seems to have an incredible skill for evaluating talent and manipulating the draft to his liking.  I think we either trade back in the 4th to collect a 5th, or select our 5th and then trade one of our 6th and our 7th to sneak back into the back end of the 5th to grab another guy.

Very fortunate for the draft to unfold the way it has so far.  Caldwell had stones to let Jack sit so long without moving up higher.  I hope the players we've selected work out for us as well as most believe they will.

Part of this may also be attributed to relationship building with other GMs.  We've dealt with Baltimore before for instance.  Perhaps the offer from the Dolphins was similar to ours but maybe Caldwell has better rapport with Ozzie.

It's also possible that the concerns about Jack's knee are real and that he was off of a lot of boards.  The dunk video he posted didn't do anything for me.  He landed deliberately soft in my opinion.

Quote:To answer the question yes he is a genius lol.

I think really it's just our time. We caught a break. That's what happens to the great teams. Hopefully this is the beginning of a long run.
Yes like a Brady'esk type of break
Quote:LOL I have always known the Cowboys are idiots. This is the best time ever for them to be so stupid.
Idiots?

They have multiple Super Bowls..... You of all people shouldn't use the term "idiot"
Quote:You are talking about the same team whose biggest need is the defensive line because of two drug-related suspensions LOL. When was the last time Dallas did something smart?
Drafting Dez, Tyron Smith, Byron Jones, Frederick, Martin, Lawerence....
Quote:im pretty sure if Romo stays healthy they will probably just outscore most opponents.
I'm pretty sure In the grand scheme of things the Dallas Cowboy football games are going to be insanely fun to watch with Ezekiel Elliott and that offense lighting up the scoreboard.. This was the pick they needed to "win now" which is what they need for Romo. It gambles the future a little bit but still the right call.
Now if Dave could get us Miles Killebrew I will be ecstatic

No. He's not a genius. He's lucky and smart enough not to be an idiot. That can make you a top 5 gm.

would rather Cash, let's see who falls to us
Dave knows how to be a GM.  Unlike his predecessor.  I think 99% of the board knew he was making good moves.  The first 2 days of this draft are a culmination of his abilities and what he's been working towards since he came here.

He's built valuable relationships with other GMs which allowed him to move 2 slots for just a 5th.  He plays his cards close to the vest and never over reacts to anything.  He's cool under pressure and yet he's willing to take risks.

The dude is a legit GM.  He's made a few mistakes, but his successess far outweigh the mistakes.  No GM hits on every move.  But if you can hit on 51% of your moves you're gonna be OK.  Dave seems to be hitting on 70% of his decisions, which has really put us in a strong position moving forward.

true
Yep, he's the man!  His 1st draft was rough but he's learned a lot on the job and is probably one of the best, young GMs in the league right now.

Way to not give credit where it's due.
Quote:He's always been a great drafter, fans are just impatient. Jaguars have sucked, frustrations are understandable, but sometimes, that clouds judgment. Dave Caldwell has always been the best thing on a personnel standpoint to happen to the Jags.

Ive always defended Dave, and this draft shows that my trust and belief in him as paid off. Never felt this way about Gene, knew almost right away that was not going to work out. Dave, I always had a good feeling about him.

Dave havent been the issue, Gus have.

Yes. Other than Tom Coughlin, Dave is the best management level person the Jags have ever hadl
Wow.....it all came his way this year.

I'd rather be lucky than smart.

Dave has delivered the players......now it's up to the coaching staff.
Dude, they're all rookies.  So it's cool if we suck again this year.  You gotta give Gus 3 years...  Starting...  NOW:
