Quote:Dave's comment were kind of interesting. He said his original plan was to go:I bet it was Correa. He fits in at OTTO/LEO and can get after the passer. Why would we take another WILL?
1) Ramsey
2) Yannick
3) An unspecified LB who went in the 2nd (I am thinking he was talking Drion Jones)
Jack falling through an unexpected wrench in Dave's plan. Dave said he was surprised Yannick fells to the 3rd.
Still incredible to me that we got a top 5 talent in the 2nd and Dave's original 2nd round target in the 3rd.

NFL Now replayed MJD announcing it long after he read the card. Money Smith told viewers he said the name perfectly, so if there is any doubt, watch the announcement again.
As for me, I will just use his first name. Yannick is not difficult to spell out.

Looking at the picks Jones is probably the only one who went in the 2nd that had potential to be available at our 3rd. Correa wasn't going to last that long.

Than when Yannick and the other guy didn't fall, it was obvious they were going with Ngakoue.
No?

You're probably right. I can't recall the exact quote.

I think it was Yannick was the target in round 2 and they were targeting a LB for round 3. Then Jack fell and they took him, and the LB went in the middle of 2 and Yannick ending up falling so it worked out.

Yeah, that's how I understood it.

Which linebacker were we targeting for Round 3?

Very interesting DC Wash took it upon himself to fly out to Maryland and workout Ngakoue & video tape it on his Iphone to show HC Gus Bradley & GM whom both were impressed enough to take him in the 3rd round.
Source ESPN:
Defensive coordinator Todd Wash flew to Maryland on Monday and worked out Ngakoue. He said he recorded the workout on his phone and general manager Dave Caldwell and coach Gus Bradley were impressed. The Jaguars view him as a situational rusher. “He had a great workout,” Wash said. “We’re very excited about him as an edge rusher. He’s got to continue to work versus the run but where we’re built and how things are going right now we see him as a situational pass-rusher.”
Maryland finished 3-9 in 2015, but Ngakoue played well against elite competition, recording 3.5 sacks against Ohio State, Michigan State and Iowa, all of whom were ranked in the top 14.

I saw an article not too long ago that listed all the remaining unsigned rookies and there is a bunch of unsigned guys all around where Ngakoue was drafted. Once the dominoes fall all those guys should sign quickly.
