Yanni!
Thought I'd bump this thread with something I noticed in one of the vids on the homepage.

I'm excited about both of our new edge rushers and Ngakoue appears to possess a certain four letter trait we've been missing for some time at the position. BEND

This gif is more an example of flexibility and lateral quickness if you want to get nit-picky and yes, it's just a dummy-drill, but Yannick may be more slippery and athletic around the edge than anyone we've had on the roster for some time. I really like that he and Fowler look so different in their style of rushing.

I'm really excited about Fowler and expect him to earn most of the LEO reps, but Yannick may just surprise us in his opportunities this season. Check out how low his inside shoulder gets in this drill and how quickly he accelerates out of that position. Pretty impressive, IMO.

Bradley also made comments after minicamp that while there were no pads they may have underestimated his ability against the run as he looked better in those situations than they anticipated.

Those of us who watched him play in college have mentioned his bend a couple times now. Fowler is more like an Aldon Smith who wins with motor, power, hand usage, and devastatingly quick inside moves.

Quote:Probably going to just call him Gak. Poor Boselli will never get that name right.

For some reason I keep adding a "R" in his name and saying YaRnick but I know it's not right.
He's a very passionate and competitive guy. He shows it on Twitter/Instagram and loves being a Jaguar. He's ready to play and play now.

That's the pirate version.

Am I saying it right?
Seems determined to make a name for himself

Glad to hear. I'm really high on this guy and the sky is the limit on his potential.
He's fun to watch highlight wise. Could possibly be the most productive rookie on defense this year. Yes, even more so than Ramsey and Jack. I think Ngakoue could benefit the most with a healthy Senderick Marks returning and a recently added Malik Jackson eating up space inside and creating room to get creative off the edge. If Fowler Jr. shows up and does his thing too it's a party man. I'd be happy with a NYG type front four season where they had guys like Strahan, Tuck and Umenyiora coming off the edge relentlessly like they did back in 2007. They had a solid rotation between those three. I think they combined for over 30 sacks as a trio with all of them either getting double digits or just being shy barely in individual sacks. I could see that happening.

I was not aware that we were pirates.
