There's a great chance the first three picks will be offensive players, there's also chance the first 4 players off the board will be on the offensive side. This draft is shaping up well for the Jags!

NFL Network's Mike Silver reports there is "some sense" the Chargers could take Notre Dame OT Ronnie Stanley with the No. 3 overall pick.

Silver has been cheerleading for Stanley, but it jibes with what SI's Peter King reported Monday. Per King, Stanley "might be in the process of passing" Ole Miss' Laremy Tunsil as the best regarded tackle in the draft

Do it. DO IT!

Heck yes

Wow. Did something happen with Tunsil that I don't know about? lol I'm not complaining though.

GO JAGS!!

Another rumor is the Chargers are going to draft a Defensive player at # 3, with DeForest Buckner and Jalen Ramsey being mentioned.

My take is the Chargers would be making a mistake if they don't draft a top flight pass blocking LT prospect. It could be the difference in Philip Rivers lasting 2 or 3 more additional seasons compared to if they don't upgrade that position.

Biggest knocks are his injury history and some character concerns, nothing new though.
I've heard rumors that there are teams with Ronnie ranked higher which is weird to me.

Take him SD or Ramsey. Then Dallas takes Buckner or Bosa. Then we trade with San Fran. San Fran takes Tunsil. Baltimore takes Bosa or Buckner. Then we take Jack. Round 1 = WIN Big Grin

GO JAGS!!

I think this has more to do with the need to have a "different" take by Silver than anything else. Very doubtful that Tunsil isn't the highest regarded tackle in the draft considering what has been said about him by former GMs that now work in the media. Guys that should know what they're talking about, not necessarily that I do.

Agreed, you have Phillip Rivers who has played behind one of the worst offensive lines in football over the past 3-4 years. Give him some help, they added the speedy Travis Benjamin in free agency, give Rivers some time to get the ball to him down the field by selecting a stud pass protector.

  This certain is my viewpoint.

Though the Chargers have been hit hard by injuries on their Offensive Line in recent years, they don't have anyone on their roster that's even close to being a high level pass blocking LT.

Overall, if the Chargers have a good draft and are much more fortunate with injuries this season than in 2015, they look like a team that can have a major rebound. Providing of course their stadium situation doesn't become a major distraction again.

I agree, the constant need for new takes forces columnists to just throw stuff out there to maintain interest. How many different mock drafts do these guys do? And we lap them up. And every single one has to have something different from the previous one. How many times does Mike Mayock adjust his player ratings? The pre draft period is just too long. It should have been over a month ago.
Charges are dumb to pick a OT that high. Top 5 pick OT's dont take your team to the promised land.

But w/o having a relatively healthy high caliber QB, it's going to be very difficult to get to the NFL promised land. Philip Rivers is more than capable of winning a Super Bowl in the foreseeable future. Yet, he needs much better play from the team's Offensive Line to have any chance of playing a meaningful game in February.
Doesn't change anything for us. No way Ramsey is getting past Dallas, sorry people.

They had 4 starting olineman injured last year. You don't think Dunlap/Orlando Franklin/X at C/Fluker/Barksdale is 4/5 of a good oline? I think as long as they draft one of the centers this year they'll be plenty good.

Agreed. Unfortunately.

King Dunlap hasn't been durable enough over the years and already turned 30. Dunlap has great size/ wingspan but I don't think he has the overall ability at this stage of his career that I would want him as a primary option projecting Philip Rivers' blindside. The other players you mentioned are good enough to win with when they are relatively healthy. Based on the Chargers injury situation up front the last 2 seasons, they need plenty of depth. But everything starts with the need to upgrade the LT position.
Makes sense they would take Stanley over Tunsil. Tunsil may be the best tackle in the draft, but that is meaningless since he can't stay healthy. His last healthy season was in high school. Let that sink in. Why anyone would take him early is baffling. He's a bigger risk than Jack.

...and also give Melvin Gordon some holes.
