Quote:Not necessarily. I want him more than any other player in the draft, but if he's slotted to go somewhere in the #35 to #50 range and Lamp is rated as a first rounder, I draft Lamp first and then try to find a way to get Foreman.
Right that part actually makes sense. So I guess Lamp would be your #1 pick if you had to select someone?

Myles Garrett is gonna be a monster DE.

You read into what I said, any way you want.

Struggling to understand your draft logic is all. I mean if you asked me "would you draft ____ with the #1 pick" I'd find it pretty easy to say yes or no.

Donta and Lamp are your top two, which means Garrett isnt. You could just say you have donta over garrett instead of fluffing your comments with made up trades (like youve been doing all off season) to avoid having to argue your own points

Quote:I know you want some other answer, but I can't give you one because I would get rid of the #1 overall pick. You can say that wouldn't be an option, but the fact is, it's always an option, if the price is right. I would only use the #1 overall pick on a franchise QB or a LT and since there isn't a franchise player at either of those positions in this draft, I cannot keep the #1 overall pick. I can only say that D'Onta Foreman is my top rated player in this draft and Lamp is #2, but I wouldn't use the #1 overall pick on either of those guys. I wouldn't use the #1 overall pick, period. There's always a way.
But in this case you have a stingy owner who hears you talking and then straightens you out saying he sees clearly what his first round pick is worth in terms of trade value and he refuses to accept anything less than its actual worth. Meanwhile, nobody is offering anything near what it's worth. What do you do?

I've answered what I would do, over and over. Giving me a completely unrealistic scenario like, "who would you take #1 if you couldn't trade down?", is ridiculous. Trading down from the #1 pick is always an option, so why give an answer to a question that would never happen anyway?

I tell him to either make the pick himself or he can fire me.

I've said I'd take D'Onta and Lamp over Garrett all along. I just wouldn't take any player #1 overall.

Quote:I just watched film on all four RBs. I've seen much of it before, but just to be sure watched again.
Fournette truly is an absolute beast when you factor in his size and power to go along with that speed. I'm now sold on him at #1.
My #2 RB is McCaffery who I see signs of being an elite RB. Granted he's not Jim Brown as he's not an overly physical runner like Jim was, but he has this way of using his speed and athleticism to evade tackles that makes him special. I'll try to describe what I see... it's like he hits a hole fast and will cut as needed, but just when you think you got him he flips a turbo-boost switch and it outta there, In this manner he's displays a dominance on the field where I feel he'll carry teams to greatness. It's like his will to succeed won't allow him to be tackled.
Fournette and McCaffery are two RBs that I feel will go down in history as truly elite. ...and especially Fournette because he's thicker, stronger and more durable in order to play all 16 games.
Mixon and Cook are tough to decide between for #3. I see Cook and I want to say him for his speed alone. Forget his 40-time... the guy is FAST. But what else really? I don't see any power to his game so he'll have to survive on speed alone. It's great. I love Corey Grant. ...but we picked up Grant in undrafted free agency... not in round one.
Mixon is a good blend of everything with a little bit of power, a little bit of speed, and a little bit of moves. The thing is he's consistently just a hair ahead of defenses who just can't quite get to him. That's great, but he's not overly dominant. When you watch Fournette the guy is consistently overly dominant. I mean, defenses just don't stand a chance. With Mixon it's like defenses would stand a chance if they were just a hair better or faster, and in the NFL they are. I'll give him the edge over Cook only because Cook is sort of a one-trick pony, but Cook is faster Mixon no doubt about it.
My RB rankings based on pure talent remain...

[*]Fournette
[*]McCaffery
[*]Mixon
[*]Cook

I don't really feel there's another RB that's close. Kamara really isn't near these guys, and I kind of like Foreman, Hill and McNichols more than him, but that's all a good tier lower. Perine, Mixon's teammate, is probably just as good as any of these second tier guys. ...Marlon Mack you can put in a third tier around where I see Mixon actually being drafted.
Cook is a great NFL age RB cause he can catch out of the backfield. And can go deep and get the ball.

I'm still not sure which guy is best.
Fournette, Cook, or McCaffery.
:teehee: I'm being somewhat tongue-in-cheek here with these comparisons, but I really wouldn't be shocked if at least two of these three RBs do not live up to the hype.

I'll go out on a limb and guarantee that McCaffery is going to go down as a great RB. The only question is if Fournette will even be better, but McCaffery is has rare talent leaving me with no doubt that he's going to be a fantasy legend in due time provided he remains healthy.

Not only did cook do that? He did it in a bowl game against a great secondary.
