I couldn't justify voting for Trump but he's here. This is America, so the fact that most of you here are whining about off the field issues and worrying about the guy's character is absurd. Look at your Potus and then shut it.
Quote:Maybe nationally. I can guarantee you that Hill is still a point of discussion in Kansas City. Mixon will be the only point of discussion in Jacksonville for a long time if the Jaguars draft him.
There is a big difference between Hill and Mixon. Nobody actually saw what Hill did, so it's easier for people to forget, but everyone has seen the video of Mixon cold-cocking that girl. That's burned into people's brains, like the Ray Rice video. The blowback from what Mixon did will be around much longer than Hill's indiscretions.
I think he is overrated and a turd, I like other RBs in this draft so I will pass on him

A different quote from his article yesterday though:
A Scout Says: "We can't draft him [because of the assault charge], but he'll be the best running back from this class. He's on par with Zeke [Elliott] and David Johnson."
He's a fascinating case.
Walks like a duck, quacks like a duck...most likely it's a duck.
I'd pass, unless he drops tremendously.
I am not a supporter of physical violence at all but with all these feminist wanting equal rights and then gets mad when a man hits them back after she hits him first is a little ridiculous.
For me she got instant karma for being an idiot and hitting a football player or hitting anyone at all. Keep your hands to yourself if you don't want to get into a fight.
It's not like she slapped him once and he was sitting there pounding her. She hit him once and he hit her once back that was the end. She started something she couldn't finish and clearly couldn't handle.
I'd draft him.

There's a big difference between a hit and a slap from a little lady. I don't think women should slap either, but they are very different things.

That's really interesting that they are more okay with Mixon's baggage than Cook's. Cook's arrest record is a lot longer than Mixon's but there is no video. I keep reading from multiple sources that his entourage follows him around like storm clouds.
I'm kinda thinking Cook falls out of the first round
Quote:I think hitting women should be a no-go regardless, but with all this equality crap going around, don't hit someone and not expect to be hit back.
other stuff i've only heard from you so idk what to think about that.
Speaking of equality. I don't recall ever seeing any uproar about Hope Solo captaining your women's team to the 2015 World Cup despite beating up badly her niece and half sister, in fact she was only banned from USA for moaning at a coach, how come that's allowed?
I'd take him in the 3rd even if we take Fournette at 4, he's the best offensive player in this draft not even close

I'd draft him.
Gonna go ahead and assume that you're single...
Pass on Mixon. Guy is a PR nightmare, as stated by others. Could see NE or GB picking him up.

I wouldn't say not even close. OJ Howard could be that.

Could be but RB>Te imo.

Right. All of the public incidents that have happened with Cook is just the tip of the spear according to insiders/scouts/FO.
For Mixon I haven't heard anything else seriously bad. Not that it doesn't exist, I just haven't heard anyone mention it.

Oh yeah that's been the feel for a while. Even before the awful combine the worries about injuries, character, and fumbling were piling up.
Yeah hard to go near Cook with all those red flags. Shame because as a pure runner he's one of the most talented backs I've ever seen.
I'd say he'll have a monster year at some stage during the NFL but will never put it all together with the fumbles, injury's and off the field stuff.
I think it's absolutely disgusting what Mixon did.
But I want him on this team if it only costs a 2nd or 3rd rounder. He is a big time talent. A future top 5 RB.
I just want the Jags to win. Not the morality olympics. Football games, dammit.

Was going to say something similar...
I think drafting mixon/cook is inviting the circus into your locker room. There is something to be said for team culture, distractions, and chemistry. Some teams put together a roster like we're playing in "The Longest Yard." They deal with players with a litany of charges and almost yearly you can count on one or more of their players being arrested. They outwardly promote that culture, the Cowboys and the Bengals come to mind, they don't give a crap about your character, they will take their chances. Sometimes those chances work out like Dez Bryant, other times they are Randy Gregory, Greg Hardy, or Pacman. Their roster can be amazing top to bottom but they are still missing that team chemistry because they are loaded with selfish players. And that's what it comes down to isn't it? Selfishness. When a player can't stay on the field because of arrests, personal conduct, or substance abuse issues, they are putting themselves before their teammates, they are being selfish. Generally speaking, it seems that teams teams with players that are committed to the team first win championships. New England and the TC Giants teams come to mind. You don't come to play for Jacksonville for the limelight. The Jaguars locker room is not a circus. If we want to win championships and attract great players, we must build a winning team culture and chemistry, not a locker room of selfish players who cannot stay out of trouble.
