I wanted to go with players not mentioned yet just for fun.
I will take Manuwai and Daryl Smith.
Manuwai would certainly help sure up the middle of our line and help our run game substantially, and Smith would help beef up our LBers.
Since this is a Defense year, I reserve the right to go double D and TBrac.
So with QB's running for their lives and flinging the ball, Wideouts have to keep a wary eye Blunt Force Trauma headed their way.
OMG, I so long for those games with the Steelers in the Black and Bruised Division.

Plug in Donovin Darius at SS on this defense.
On offense plug in Boselli at LT.

What year did you start watching the Jags play or became a fan?
I would like to know if this is relative to the "newer" jag fans across the country. This, and your fondness of our helmet scheme.
Fan since 95 bruh

A lot of love for TBrack on here, and no doubt he'd have been a great LEO. I wonder, however, if an even better LEO might have been former Jaguars seventh round pick Bobby McCray. If you watched him during this double digit sack season, the guy had an amazing get-off and his sacks were picture perfect worthy of any textbook. He was a liability vs run and flamed out son after, however, put him at LEO with one role, and dude would be the ultimate pass rusher.

Manuwai is interesting. I considered Brad Meester, but I couldn't pass up on Boselli.
As for Daryl, if I were going LB I'd rather have Mike P.
That, or the ultimate OTTO...
Joeeeeellllll Smeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeennnnnnggggggeeeeee!!!!

Thought about Peterson first, but thought that Smith would fill in outside since we have Poz at least for now, and no one outside.
I gotta say Fred Taylor.
Others
Boselli
Rashean Mathis

True.
I just remember the days when Mike P and Darius were behind the Twin Towers. Nobody ran on that.
Boselli ....give Bortles pro-bowl caliber protection and Yeldon/Ivory a big hole to run to daylight.
Brackens ....imagine Brackens and Fowler attacking from the edge, with Jackson and Marks collapsing the interior.
Quote:Boselli
Brackens
You went alphabetical, amirite?
Quote:Boselli and Brackens
... and I don't know how anyone can come to any different conclusion.
Agree.
The obvious answers are Tony Boselli and Tony Brackens but it would have been a blast to see J-Smooth play with a strong armed QB capable of pushing the ball down the field.
Ok....with your 2 additions that you made, along with your draft board. What does your team look like?
And predict your record and predict where you end up in the playoffs.
With Boselli and Brackens as my previous.
I'm drafting VH3 in round 1, and Brothers at LB in round 2.
I predict my team will go 12-4.
And I would make it to the AFC title game. We would probably lose to the Patriots.

Absolutely.

Ok now that's a great idea for a thread. Name one from each side then you can't use any previously named. We'd get down to the nitty gritty.
Boselli and John Henderson.
Not named;
Naoele and Mike Peterson.
Quote:If you could have any Previous Jaguar...1 offensive player and 1 defensive player, who would you take and why?
Treat it as if your a GM and you still have the draft coming up and include the players we just signed.
Your goal would be to fill out the roster to make a Super Bowl run.
I would go with Fred Taylor on offense. (Boselli was hard to pass over with the Joke at LT). Went with Taylor because he could simply take a game over and score at any time.
On defense I would go with Tony Brackens. (Almost picked DD). Because he would be the king at LEO.
.
No way based on this current roster as great as it would be to have a solid run game with Freddie T, no one person could help this offense out better than LT Tony Boselli HOF IMO! Sure Jimmy Smith would be yet another weapon for Blake to use but if Blake is being sacked he won't do him any good. Would you be surprised if GM Dave Caldwell drafted LT Tunsil in the first round?
Defense is a bit tougher so many wholes needed and I am torn between having SS Donovin Darius across from FS Gipson and I think that GM Dave Caldwell will draft a guy far better than Joel Smeenge at LE in Joey Bosa this year, having Mike Peterson play SOLB next to Poz or vice a versa with Telvin at WOLB would be lethal. The more I think about it I'm going to go with this (based on what the team really needs the most)...
Offense - LT Tony Boseli
Defense- SS DD
ST- Maurice Jones-Drew
Mjd and bortles? Boselli and bortles?
That'd be a great addition to the offensive core.
On defense I'd like Donovan Darius or Mathis (as FS or corner) to solidify the secondary.
