Cody Whitehair in the 2nd round sounds good if Linder moves to center. That would solidify the OL, Whitehair has a lot of potential and he is very versatile.

Quote:Gus raved about Linder's ability to play center and about how it'd be great to have a player as talented as Linder to solidify the center position for many years.

As Daniel Jeremiah stated on Path To The Draft today, at the center position, it is Ryan Kelly and then a long way to the next center.  I think if Kelly is not taken in round 2 by Dave, which I don't believe Dave will use the 2 early picks on center, then Linder will be the center.  If Linder is moved to center, I think it's Bernadeau's job for now.

This is how I see it shaking out as well.
An interior trio of Cann-Linder-Joshua Garnett/Tretola would be quite the trio.

I would take Garnett if he makes it to the 2nd. Having a solid line is more important than anything else.

I noticed a few mocks with Kelly available for the Jaguars 3rd round pick, and I'm hoping he's sitting there. It sounds like he's a true road grading Center.

I was wondering what's going on with Lyle Sendlein. He was signed to a one-year deal last year to stay on as the Cards starter, but was a bit of a weak link for them and hasn't singed yet with anyone. Still, he's been a starter of every game for many, many years. All of that said, the latest reports are that he's on the verge of announcing his retirement.

A bit of a weak link and on the verge of retirement.

Sounds like you answered your own question to me.
I've got to take Bradley at his word on this one. The lying and bluffing occurs mostly with potential first round picks, not in a situation like this. Center is the 2nd most important offensive line position and having a reliable guy like Linder at this spot for the next several years would be a good thing.

I wouldn't have any problems with Linder playing center

I'm all for drafting a starting guard (Tretola?) in the 3rd. I'd prefer the team go defense in the 2nd
Just draft the best available center or guard in round three and let them sort it out in camp.

Kelly is getting mocked at 26 to the Seahawks or 29 to the Cards in so many mocks drafts now...but if he miraculously is there at 38 it's such a no brainer pick.

How do you feel about Whitehair at C?
Quote:After watching Gus get interviewed at the owners meetings, it became pretty apparent that Linder will play at center. Gus raved about Linder's ability to play center and about how it'd be great to have a player as talented as Linder to solidify the center position for many years. With that said, who starts at guard opposite Cann? Do you think we find the guy in the draft, the guy we signed from the Cowboys, or a guy that is part of our depth group like Shatley or Bowanko?

I doubt Linder plays center, as much as I think that Skuta will play Leo.  I think they are simply in the process of resigning Wiz to play Center and want to have more leverage at the table.
