Quote:Bosa's combine numbers beg to differ. He had a 4.53 40, a 4.21 short shuttle and a 6.89 3-cone, all of which are top two at his position and all of which suggest he's plenty quick and fast enough. He's drawing comparisons to Kerrigan, and I love me some Kerrigan. Bosa is among the most legit LEO prospects I've seen since Gus took over.

Where in the world did you get Bosa running a 4.53 40?

I am a Gator fan, I have seen virtually every game of Fowler's live and every cut up of his at least 2 times and some more. What I said is true.

I'm a gator fan and I disagree.

Hes a Beasley fan. I posted a few games where almost every play and started each play at the exact time where Fowler caused disruption on almost every play. Please break down a game of Beasley where he caused half the havoc in a game Fowler did. I broke down play by play
I voted for both, solely because the poll let me.

Billy Martin's ghost? Is that you?

Quote:An article on NFL.com today indicates that there are some rumblings within the Cowboys camp that they would not take Bosa if avaiable at pick 4. The chance of Bosa being available at pick 5 is possibly increasing.

It's lying season and I'd prefer Jack, but it would be tough to complain if Bosa is sitting there at #5.
Quote:Interesting. The whole point of the OTTO which makes him different than your typical OLB is that he can rush the passer. You see, this defense is ideally more of a 3-4 disguised as a 4-3. The NT and LDE are primarily meant to hold up on the strong side and take blocks while the OTTO brings key pressure from the strong side, which in turn often means absorbing TE chips.

I thought you must be wrong about this, but sure enough his

mentions nothing about his ability to get to the qb, and I noticed that Walters doesn't even include him as a rush backer. Finally, thinking we can't all be this gung ho about Jack if he doesn't even rush the passer, I opted to look up his stats. In three seasons, Jack has totaled one sack.

I'm hoping with his incredible athleticism he can pick up up pass rushing, but keep in mind that pass rushing is a skill that players typically hone for many years by the time they get to the NFL. I'm honestly concerned by this because an OTTO rushes the passer plain and simple. It sounds to me like Jack is strictly a 4-3 OLB.

The idea with Jack is that he will play OTTO this year and then next year slide over to MLB for the next 10+ years.

Oops. I misread this quote as being Bosa's time...

Mayock went on to compare the 40 of Bosa to the 4.53 run at the 2014 combine by the No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, Jadeveon Clowney.

Don't skew the results. The data from this poll will influence who we will draft.
Bosa stands out like crazy on tape! Even when he's not making a play on the ball, you could just see that he's disruptive. His use of hands are incredible. Watt-esque.

He and Fowler would be an incredibly young duo, but the potential of them playing with each other is through the roof.

It's Jack or Bosa for me.

Bosa just has to get quicker IMO. He was 270 at the combine and probably played closer to 275/280 at Ohio State. I think getting him under 260 would help tremendously as he's a really strong guy with great hands (as you said), but I can see him struggling on the edge if he doesn't get more burst.

I think Jack has a higher floor and a higher ceiling though, so he's my #1 ranked guy for us, but I'm good with Bosa if they have a plan to get him faster. He had a good 3-cone and 20 yard shuttle so I know the short burst is there, he's just gotta be more consistent with it when he's rushing the passer.

Personally I see Fowler ending up as an Otto. He played so well standing up that to stick his hand in the ground every play seems a waste of his talent.

I like the idea of bosa Jackson miller oldrick Fowler as a 5 man front on first and second. Marks and skuta coming in on 3rd for miller and oldrick.

But Jack is the better player and there are talented pass rushers available in the second round so if jack is there you have to take him.
Jack allows so much more freedom in the defense that Bradley wants to run. The Nickel defense would be very nice. Poz off the field on passing downs. Defensively, this is a Nickel D league.

I'm starting to lean towards Bosa over Jack.

If I had to choose now, I'd go Bosa. Then look to find a LB later in the draft. Deion Jones maybe.

Poz off the field on passing downs is a beautiful thing.

The Chargers game was ugly. Anytime Poz was in coverage, Rivers just changed the play and threw to whomever Poz was on.
Dave pointed out that our D was statistically pretty good on 1st and 2nd, it was 3rd down that we got killed on. Signing Malik, Gipson, and Prince will go a long way to fixing that but finding someone to replace Poz and another LEO must be addressed in the draft.

Jack and then Spence/Lawson/Calhoun/Correa would ideal. Jack can play the OTTO and then slide inside for Poz and then our 2nd round LEO could play the DE spot opposite Fowler.

A 3rd down lineup of Fowler, Marks, Jackson, 2nd rounder, Telvin, Jack, House, Colvin, Gipson, Cyp/Sample, and Prince will be drastically better than the lineup that was fielded last year.

Jack said a team drafting in the top 5 sees him as an NFL safety. Seems to be the Chargers as they had him doing a lot of safety drills and Jack talked about them wanting him to play safety.

Wasn't likely in the first place but that pretty much rules out Chargers taking Jack for me.
