Quote:I don't believe this trade was ever offered. Sounds more like what the Titans told the Eagles what it would take for them to trade Mariota. I wouldn't trade Mariota for two firsts and two seconds. No way in hell Fletcher Cox would have been traded.
Yeah, no way Chip Kelly made that offer for MM, because there's no way the tacks would have turned that down, for the #2 pick at that, not even the #1 pick.
It was the tacks offer to the Eagles, not the other way around.
How many Qbs can you name that would have been worth that high of a ransom, who were taken at the very top of the draft?
Not many. Peyton Manning, maybe and Tom Brady, but only if you knew what he would turn out to be, which, of course, you didn't.
Any other QB? Possibly A Rogers, but he wasn't taken at the top of the draft either, Alex Smith was.
Anyone else?

But JackCity said if the rumor was true the Titans made the right choice by not trading Mariota for all of those picks and Fletcher Cox lol

"I think they made the right choice."
Wasnt that response based on if this rumor was true?

No and I go on to explain that I wouldn't have done it for two firsts and two seconds. Probably would have done it if Cox was added but not sure.

Who do you think was the better prospect coming out? RG3 or Mariota?
They made the right choice.. and just lol at this topic.
Like always, people in here love to talk crap about other teams players but if Mariota was a Jag and Bortles a Titan you would all be saying Mariota is gonna be way better because Bortles throws INTs like crazy etc etc.

Well, Mariota did lead the tacks to the #1 pick in the upcoming NFL draft, so he has that going for him.

Ok, just because I don't have much to do atm.
Mariota record 3-9
First year stats 12 games started 2818 yards 62.2% 19 TDs and 10 ints
Bortles record 8-22 (3-11 the first year)
First year stats 13 games started 2908 yards 58.9% 11 TDs 17 ints LOL
The tacks are absolute idiots for not taking that trade.

Yep, and he will probably lead them to another top 5 draft pick next year if his skinny self can make it through the season healthy. He will probably end the season on IR again just like he did last year

Because it worked great for the Rams? they have a good team overall and no QB, not saying RG3 was the answer but if they were pretty high on Mariota they made the right choice.

RG3 first season >>>>>> Mariota's first season

Rg3. According to the report the Titans would have got picks #20 and #47 in 2015 and #13 in 2016. No way I take that for Mariota.
Quote:Wow really?
Yes, it's true. You can look it up if you need to.
If they really did get that trade offer then they'll regret not taking it for years to come. Never take a twig QB when you could get a king's ransom in return for him. Mariota is another Bridgewater type.

Just because I don't have anything to do atm, I'll file this one away and revisit it after Mariota's second year, because there's no frigging way Mariota puts up the stats Bortles did in his second year. Id bet the farm. Maybe the next time you get bored you should take a look at what those numbers are.
