I've noticed so many varying opinions on the CB class that I decided to go through the names with a fine toothed comb to arrive at the following CB ranking. I could have kept going, but I stopped after ranking the top 30 corners...

  1. Marshon Lattimore

  2. Marlon Humphrey

  3. Tre’Davious White

  4. Gareon Conley

  5. Quincy Wilson

  6. Cordrea Tankersley

  7. Adoree Jackson

  8. Desmond King

  9. Teez Tabor

  10. Jourdan Lewis

  11. Chidobe Awuzie

  12. Sidney Jones

  13. Fabian Monroe

  14. Kevin King

  15. Ahkello Witherspoon

I'd take White, Conley and Wilson over Humphrey.
I'm pretty set on a Lattimore tier by himself as CB1 and a Conley tier by himself as CB2. I think I would start a pretty large third tier with Fabian Moreau...but after that I am not confident about anything with this CB class.

You really "ranked" 30 corners? Lol

Did you watch highlight footage of tape on all of them? If so, what an incredible waste of time.

From what I've heard Lattimore is very good, as is the other Ohio State corner.

Pretty difficult to do without the all 22 film also.

You have Fabian Moreau far too low. I think he's the second best corner in the draft, after Lattimore.
My rankings are a little different. First off, I only have Desmond King as a Safety his much better playing off the ball than in tight coverage and would benefit from a shift. The guys at the top are just too close to call. It's a deep class with really good corners that should fall as far as the 5th round. If I had a gun to my head, I would rank them like this......

Imagine thinking Jourdan Lewis is the 30th best cornerback in this class...or do you have him there because of the domestic violence stuff?

Or Moreau 25th...he's closer to a top 25 overall player.

It seems like every time I saw him last season, he was getting torched for a touchdown. He lacks the physicality I like in corners. He loses too many battles with receivers. Admittedly he would've been a little higher (not much) before the domestic violence stuff, but that mixed with the reservations I already had about him, almost make him undraftable in my opinion. There are just too many good corners in this draft to take a chance on the guy.

I'm a huge UCLA fan and the athleticism you see from Moreau at the Combine and his workouts has not translated to his play on the field. I'd classify him as a "workout warrior." Maybe if he finds the right system where a good coach could pull out all that athleticism and turn it into consistent coverage, he could be good, but in this talented CB class, I'd rather draft someone without so many inconsistencies.

Yeah someone without so many inconsistencies...like Adoree Jackson...

Granted I haven't seen Adoree Jackson nearly as much as I've seen Moreau, but when I did, I was impressed by him. Plus, I gave him extra credit for doubling as one of the best return men in college football. It's like getting two position players in one draft pick.
I really think Humphrey is overrated. Maybe I'm wrong but I watched quite a bit of Bama games. Yes he looks great on some film but I've seen him out of position and I think he lacks that elite instinct. A really good D-line and linebackers can make a lot of corners look great. Lattimore is one of the best in this class but I don't think there are any corners in this class as good as Jalen. Really good 40's at the combine though. Tre'Davious White could be a really good pro in the right system.

Moreau is too raw and will need a year to develop.  This is why I even have him after Sidney Jones who need a year on IR.

I had a real tough time with Tre'Davious White vs Humphrey for #2 vs #3. It came down to them being similar enough that Humphrey got the edge for also being physical. Several rankings had Humphrey over Lattimore for #1 before the combine.

As for Conley, I see many of you like him over White and Humphrey. I'm just not so quick to go there as he's always been solid in my #4 spot. What is it specifically you guys are liking about him so much?

There are a lot of physical players coming out of the draft every year. A great example is Cyprien, a really physical player coming out but how was he in coverages? I think we drafted him because he was physical. Humphrey is really good but I think there are a few players that are better than him at the CB position.

That's just it. Humphrey is not just a physical guy... I was saying he's also physical. In coverage, I couldn't fault the guy. He ran a 4.41 after saying he was expecting to run a 4.39. His speed certainly isn't an issue. White is a smaller guy and yet he ran a 4.47... he's not even as fast as Humphrey. Conley is slower than Humphrey as well having run a 4.44.

I'm not denying Humphrey is good, I just see other CB players in this class better. I know it's one game but watch how he played in the most important game of the year against Clemson. Williams made him look like a CB 3rd on the depth chart. Missed tackles, pass interference, looked lost on a few plays and gave up multiple big plays. Yes it's one game against the best WR in the country but that's a game that matters a lot to see how he will play against big time WR. He failed in that game. Watching Bama games he seems like a good character guy but another thing I notice about him is he stops playing sometimes in the middle of plays. But yes he's fast and so is Lattimore
