Quote:*.5 national championship
That's not how it works, but thanks for exposing yourself as a troll. Even if you want to consider it ".5", that is still better than what Manning and Moss led their teams to.

Quote:It was also the Heisman Committee's take.Doesn't make it just.
Quote:Doesn't make it just.
Kind of like the way the Emmert feels about Harbaugh's spring break...
Quote:But it shows it isn't just a Michigan homer take.I'm just pointing out that you can't have it both ways. Just because one entity thinks it is so, does not make it correct.

Woodson also benefitted from a push at the time for a defensive player to win it. There was a lot of bellyaching prior to that they are few and far between. Manning meant more to Tennessee as an individual player then did Woodson to Michigan as a whole.
Quote:I'm just pointing out that I don't think Woodson deserved it just because I'm a Michigan fan. Obviously plenty of non-Michigan fans believe he deserved it, too.I know, and I was just pointing out that Michigan fan or not doesn't make it accurate still.

Quote:It doesn't make it inaccurate, either.Which goes without saying.
Quote:I always felt that the biggest loser in all of this was Champ Bailey and his '98 season.
If you look at those '98 numbers, they actually blow away Woodson's Heisman season with the exception of INTs. Not that Bailey is better than Woodson, I just felt like he never really got his due for what he accomplished.
Quote:I always felt that the biggest loser in all of this was Champ Bailey and his '98 season. The push had died for a defensive player to win it. It had just happened. I am sure in the future there will come a day when there will be an outcry for another. Woodson benefited from this, no question.

Quote:Almost happened with Manti Teo a few years agoVery true. That was a joke too
Quote:Charles Woodson: 7 INTs/1 punt return TD/283 rec yards, 2 rec TDs/15 rushing yards, 1 rush TD
Peyton Manning: 287-477/60%/3,819 yards/36 TDs/11 INTs
Ryan Leaf: 227-410/55%/3,968 yards/34 TDs/11 INTs
Randy Moss: 96 rec/1820 yards/19.0 avg/26 TDs
If we're going off pure stats alone, Manning definitely should have won it.
It's a shame Randy Moss didn't get more love.
