Quote:Doesn't sound like you have been listening to the team interviews then. Dave and Doug are happy with 4/5 of the oline as it is right now.

I believe nothing that comes out of any NFL coaches mouth this time of year. 90% of everything they say is a smokescreen.

Ok, don't claim to be surprised or angered when Albert/Linder/Cann/Parnell are starting week 1 though. Heck, don't be shocked if the starting LG is already on the roster too with a rookie not being thrown into the fire right away.

Oh, I'll be angered alright. Maybe not so much shocked, but certainly infuriated. It'll just mean no matter how good our defense might be, our offense will suck! The offense can't function without a running game and the running game can't function without running lanes. Most of our current O-Linemen, suck at run blocking.
Quote:Bro, we just became best friends. A good QB who can slide or move the pocket and get the ball out on quick reads fixes literally everything.

Kurt Warner did this with the Cardinals. They were a nobody until he arrived.
Sounds good in theory but it's near impossible to find those.  I agree Blake has been a major problem but good QB's do not fall from tree's.  Warner maybe a Hall of Famer so using him as an example is a bad idea.  Even today there are only a small handful of good NFL Qb's playing.

Won't be angered if that is the case.  But, would be extremely disappointed if we didn't have young talent waiting in the wings to take their place.  Right now I have less confidence in the OLine going into the 2017 season than I do in Bortles for sure.   I still think we can win with Bortles with a good OLine and a running game.  OLine is the top priority in this draft bar none.  If we draft a DE with the first pick because the talent is just too good to pass up, fine.  But, picks 2-4 better be 2 OL and a TE.  To be conservative with what would be available in those rounds I'd be happy with 2) OGs Dan Feeney or Dion Dawkins; 3) C Pat Elflein or TE Adam Shaheen; 4) C Tyler Orlosky or Jordan Leggett.  What would make me ecstatic would be to add Fournette with the 4th pick.

unless we get lucky and get two STUD ol in rd2 and 3..............

were screwed this year

albert sucks. linder is the only good olineman.

and we probably need DE too.

but the oline scares the hell outta me.

no upgrade really from last year at this point

Don't talk about correct spelling and punctuation.

For the record I don't hate Bortles. He just let a lot of people down last year. Here's to hoping he turns it around and fixes that Leftwich motion.
Quote:In a draft filled with defensive talent and weak olinemen your going to spend 3 of your first 4 picks on oline?  no thanks

Yep you're right and Google Voice can do that to the person when it comes to spelling and punctuation from my phone. Did he let you down or did the environment around him let you down because coaching had a lot to do with why this team underachieved last year.

Both. Bortles was a let down and so was the coaching.
Watson is this year's Dak Prescott

I think he's more of this year's geno smith.
Albert- Omameh - Linder - Cann - Parnell

Your week 1 o-line.

I'm just saying it's pretty likely even if you don't wanna hear it. Albert and Parnell will be the bookends and Linder will be the center. Cann will likely be given another shot and Omameh will likely get the start if a rookie isn't drafted in the 2nd or 3rd. Maybe even if so, if they don't think he is ready. *shrug*

You just don't shove a rookie RT, LG and RG all in together at once with no playing familiarity.

I think we'll be seeing a rookie at least compete at LG. There are 3 or 4 of them in this draft that would likely win the job.

Fingers crossed.

Let's not be so hyperbolic.

What we have is near the bottom of the league, but take a look at the Bengals depleted O-Line. They lost the only two good linemen that they had. Now, they've got Clint Boling and a bunch of turnstiles. They are without a doubt, the worst.
