Hopefully there are atleast two franchise QBs in this draft. Hello Bosa, Jack or Ramsey.

Would not surprise me. Romo is on lifesupport. I will be very shocked if a QB and Tunsil don't go in the top 4. This leaves us with Jack, Bosa, or Ramsey. Any would be welcome additions to our team

Its simply the right decision to make, San Diego should be considering a QB as well. Franchise QB's trump every other position, that's why we took Blake (a developmental QB with crazy upside) over Khalil Mack and the other studs on the board in 2014.

Hmm I don't think so.
I think the Cowboys will be all about winning now with Romo and will draft anyone but a QB or lineman.

Its different when you already have franchise QBs and are drafting in a weak QB class though no?

Winning now? That team isn't very good, they're not a "player" away, they're several players away.

Its easily a playoff team with Romo healthy. Best line in the league ,Dez, and a very underrated defense that did extremely well considering how bad the offense was. They are a good team.

I'm sorry I just don't think that Cowboys team (even with a healthy Romo) is that good, they're a mess on defense, they can't stop the run and struggle rushing the passer, they'll struggle even more rushing the passer next year as Hardy isn't returning, to make matters worse the secondary is garbage as well. There are simply too many holes to fill for that team to be a "true" SB contender, and even if they shored those holes, Romo is always a "hit" away from breaking a collarbone. They'd be better off in the long-term taking a franchise QB prospect at 4, allowing themselves to compete for 10-15 years as opposed to going "all in" in 2016-2017. If they pass on a potential franchise QB this year (Houston in 2014) when will they be in position to select one again in the future? You always select a franchise QB prospect if you don't have one on the current roster, or if the QB you have is in the twilight of his career.

Im of different thinking. They are in a position to draft a qb and have them ride the pine for 2-4 years. They may not pick this high again especially if Romo can stay healthy for at least 12 games over the next 2-3 seasons.

Question is whether Dallas perceives a franchise QB is in this draft.

They are a good team with Room healthy which obviously is a big question mark these days. I agree defense is mess and it needs reinforcements badly.
Its a very weak QB class and I think the Cowboys would be better off both now and in the future by drafting defense with the 1st round pick.

Great question, I think most teams will view Carson Wentz and Jared Goff as franchise QB type prospects, I think it's a forgone conclusion that Wentz is going to the Browns at 2 (unless a team trades up to 1 and selects him) as he clearly has the highest upside of any QB in this draft. The question is does San Diego consider Goff at 3? Goff makes sense in San Diego and Dallas as both teams don't play in inclement weather much, that's the only knock on Goff. He has smallish hands and above average arm strength.

I understand where you're coming from but the future isn't guaranteed, the only guarantee the Cowboys have is they possess the 4th overall pick in the 2016 NFL draft, if there's a QB they feel can develop into a franchise type guy I believe they'll take him. There are only two questions, do the Cowboys feel there's a franchise type QB in this draft? And will that QB (QB's) be available at 4? San Diego is in a similar position, it wouldn't surprise me if a QB was selected at both 2 and 3.

It's actually a really strong QB class

I agree, Wenz, Goff, Lynch, Cook, Hackeberg, Cardale Jones, none of these guys are perfect but they all have a big upside.

Yeah I suppose you just can't count on Romo to stay healthy anymore so maybe a new QB to groom or step in if he gets injured would be best?
I don't know,my gut instinct is the Cowboys go defense and hope Romo stays healthy,if he doesn't they'll likely have a top 5 pick next year too, with much better QBs.

If the offense struggles, you shouldnt have to trade up that far if its a repeat season in terms of W/L if you value the top QB in 2017.

I thought the QB class for 2017 was a lot stronger for some reason. Its weak enough.
