It's technique, strength, and most importantly (imo) intensity. He plays with little fire and or urgency.
Both need to be upgraded

Quote:I think we will roll one more year with the Joke but I think we can get Cyp's replacement in this draft in Jeremy Cash, and for him to do what we drafted Cyp for.  I dont want 2 rookie safeties in the secondary so if we get our FS in FA and dont draft Ramsey I would love to trade back into the bottom of the 2nd if Jeremy Cash is still there.  I know we have Sample but Cash is a much better player imo and is the player at the SS spot we have been looking for.  A ton of college experience and excelled at the SS position in the ACC.   Cash is taylor made for what we want in our SS and would love it if we could some how get him in the draft.  Cash also won the ACC Defensive Player of the Year Award.  He was also a finalist for the Lott Impact Trophy, the Chuck Bednarik Award, and the Jim Thorpe Award while earning Consensus All-American Honors
If we draft another SS, I might lose my effin mind. We do not need another dang SS on this roster.

You dont watch the team obviously.  As stated, we have Sample but he is an unknown coming off an injury and Cash is much better IMO.  Cash is 23 with a lot of experience and would start from day 1.  Would love for Sample to be the backup SS and FS.  We would actually have quality depth for once.

LOL... I don't watch the team because I don't want another SS, when we already have 3 of them on the roster? I guess you must watch the team because you want 4 of them on the roster huh?

What a stupid thing to say dude.

We also have 2 or 3 FS on the roster.  With your dumb logic we dont need another one of them either, brilliant!

You honestly believe Cyp, Sample and Evans are FS?? Maybe you don't watch the team..
CYP's instincts are horrible. I really liked him. It upsets me.

He has no business lining up 20+ yards deep. He has always been best as a 4th LB/In the box type safety. Evans is pretty much the same. He has a little bit more range than Cyp, but still takes bad angles due to lining up so deep. He's actually solid when he's used up in and around the box.

Sample is still an unknown. Maybe he can play FS, but he's definitely built like a LB/Box safety.

There is not a single FS on this roster. I don't care who is listed at that position... We don't have one.
Cyp just needs to backup telvin and call it a day.

Sergio Brown is a FS he just isnt very good.  Just like Cyp, Cyp is a SS but he just isnt very good.  Brown is not a SS nor a CB

If you have players or not at certain positions but they suck, you upgrade the position.  Its not rocket science.  If Jeremy Cash is sitting there in the 3rd round and he is the best player on the board you draft him.

Sergio Brown is no FS. He would be better at SS anyway. Pure stop gap guy since we didn't get McCourty.
Quote:Yeah, I don't think Cyp is too smart football wise. Even in his interviews, he has like a glazed, happy-go-lucky, blissful ignorance type of attitude.

Am I off here?

Sounds a lot like a description of Reggie Nelson.

Brown is as good as gone. No chance he makes next year's 53.

Who says he'll be the best player on the board though?

Personally, Cash looks like a little more talented version of Evans in my opinion. Their builds and play styles are pretty similar, except Evans played a lot of FS at Florida, because they had Elam as the SS and Cash plays a lot of the nickle LB/S role at Duke. Cash looks like he'd be another box type safety on this team. Without a competent FS, we probably wouldn't see much of a difference between either Cyp, Evans or Cash imo.

Brown is no SS, the guy would get destroyed worse than he does at FS

I mean, obviously.

Brown is no nothing. He shouldn't be on the team next year. I'm still holding out the slightest hope for Cyp at SS and eager to see Sample at that spot also.

Cash is a much better player than Evans and im a Florida fan.  Their play styles are similar but that's irrelevant.  Cyp sucks and Cash is much better than Cyp IMO and did it against ACC comp.  I think we address the FS position in FA.  Im hoping we get Weddle and if we do I think Dave takes a hard look at Cash.

Not me, id rather bring in an instant upgrade at the position if the opportunity presents itself.  If a SS is BPA you take him,  I would say that about any position other than QB, WR, TE, and OG
