Quote:A lot of teams were hesitant about Daniel because of his height 5'11" but he has a strong arm and has put on some real performances in the preseason. I've kinda followed him since his days at Missouri. I'm not saying we should break the bank for him, but I believe he is a much better short term backup plan than what we have now, by a very wide margin. I don't believe the coaching staff has any confidence in Allen or else he would've at least jumped Henne on the depth chart. That wouldn't be a hard thing to do.
Oh absolutely, everyone has an opinion etc.. I respect yours.. I just don't necessarily understand it due to not knowing the player, that's all.

Wasn't he big time at Mizzou, starting ahead of Blaine at one point? I think that dude that we had on the roster a few years ago started ahead of Chase at Mizzou... Ricky (somebody...) IDK. Sorry, we made no progress here.
Quote:Dude has a QBR of 81.1 -- solid !!
7 Years 480 Yards 1 td 1 int
I'm not willing to sign him to a long term deal worth $150m but I'd possibly throw ~ $35m his way on a 2-year deal ($20m guaranteed)
There's going to be a market for him once GMs google his name and realize he has a 81.1 career QBR.
If hes solid, then why is he always a #2,#3, qb on every team hes been on

Ricky Stanzi? He was an Iowa QB.
Cut Bortles and Henne. Daniels is the man to lead us forward!

To be honest, I've only been following college football for around 6 years (we never had it televised over here before that) so I don't know much about it from before then.

Lack of height. He is a pure drop back passer and doesn't have the wheels of a Russell Wilson. He's talented, but some teams are hesitant about putting in a 5'11" pocket passer who lacks athleticism, no matter how good his arm is or how good his instincts are.

But, drew brees is short also and not that mobile

ahh! Thank you. Dang I was off.. I guess it's the black and yellow

Drew Brees is over 6' and that is normally the cutoff point for QB's. I believe he is actually 6' 1/8" and Daniel was a smidge under 6'. Believe it or not, that makes a big difference to many NFL teams.

Doug flutie would have been a HOF nfl qb if it wasn't for qb height descrimination
Not just no, but hell no.

Exactly. What this space.

Fresh Arm. Only threw 78 passes in his 7-year career.
Dude has at least 65 more years in him at that rate (throwing just over 10 passes per year).
