All these "arguments" sound exactly like those who felt he needed to switch to LB to be successful at the college level.

I'll just watch.

I'll just watch.

It also feels like the people saying Tebow will be good.

I didn't watch enough CFB this year to make a judgement, but this feels eerily similar to 2010 when the scouts said Tebow would be a midrounder, but the Gator homers thought he was the greatest thing ever.
Coming from an Auburn fan about an Alabama player... not surprising.  And I dislike 'bama probably as much as you do.  To mention Tebow in the same breath may have moved up to the most asinine statement in the thread.  Schrute can now rest more easily.

Quote:Or maybe Henry didn't start over Yeldon because Yeldon is a better all around back? Maybe Yeldon pass catches better? Maybe Yeldon is a better pass blocker? Maybe Yeldon actually has change of direction ability and can avoid getting stoned? Collegiate accomplishments =/= NFL success. I will take an every down, all around back like Yeldon over a guy who is basically going to be a short yardage specialist in the league any day. If Henry breaks contain will he have long gains? Sure, good luck with him breaking contain not being able to avoid anyone. He's not jus going to put his head down and run guys over in the NFL. He needs to be behind a line like Dallas to succeed in the league, which is why he wants to be drafted by them.

Saban usually favors guys that have been in the program a while over younger guys even if the younger guys are more talented outside of special circumstances(like Cam Robinson). Also, Henry breaking his leg set him back from learning the system and pass-blocking faster.

Derrick Henry would like to be a Cowboy. Thanks for the hometown love, homie.
Quote:You must be riding real high on just that Heisman trophy, considering he wasn't even the best all around player in the running anyways. Christian McCaffrey was far and away the best all round player in college football this past season. He should have won it, but he gets the shaft because he plays on this side of the Rocky Mountains.

But either way, maybe you should go look up both of their college stats and compare them, since you seem to think it's so lop sided lol... But, it's clear you don't have any clue lol.

I agree with that.   I only saw McCaffrey in the bowl game, but from what I saw, that guy is incredible.
Quote:Henry would beat out Yeldon by the end of training camp.

Not sure what yall been watching but he reminds me of Eddie George mixed with Jim Brown

And he reminds me of Ron Dayne mixed with Toby Gerhart.

So double doo-doo

I grew up an oiler fan, watching every game. Henry looks like George in his last 2 years with the oilers/Titans. He had the top end speed with no explosion. The fact is, it takes Henry a while to get going. He's a beast when that happens. However, will he get that chance with NFL defenses. I don't think so.
Yeldon >>>>> Henry

It's not even close. Yeldon is the complete overall back and will have more success at the NFL level.
I feel like in order for Henry to get everything out of his potential that he'll need a team that is dedicated to using him. I don't think he needs an absolute, top-of-the-line, best in the whole entire League Offensive Line but he is going to need a team that is committed to feeding him the ball early and then late in the game. I keep remembering how effective he was versus Florida this season late in the game and that's where you're going to get the most bang for your buck out of him.

I agree with you for the most part. He doesn't need the absolute best O-line out there but it needs to be solid. I've mentioned here earlier that scheme will also have a major part in his success. A team that is almost exclusively a zone/stretch type running game will be better suited for Henry.
