Yeah, it's more like a 12-36 comparison.
Quote:After watching this Texans playoff game, makes me even angrier that Gus is still our HC. We got dismantled by this team last week. Gus even said this game was a measuring stick as to where we are. If this Texans team is a measuring stick then we might be the worst team in the league. I just do not see next season getting any better. If the Texans are a joke, what are we?

The Jaguars are the joke of the league going back to the cap hell days, and it hasn't changed since. The team had some mirage success for a few years, but that wasn't real success, it was just being a wildcard against an exceptionally weak schedule a couple of times, but since then the team has managed to continually fall even further thanks to horrifically bad drafting and terrible coaching hire decisions.

Khan should have cut bait on Gus this season now that the team has a franchise passer they could have actually gotten a real coach, but it seems Caldwell convinced him the team needs another top 5 pick before it's time to get a real coach in the building.
Quote:Sorry for wanting something better for this team. How am i Hijacking a thread that i started lol?

Can someone actually get suspended for hijacking a thread that they started in the first place?
Quote:Don't forget Caldwell hired not only the HC, but also selected those players responsible for that record.

Just to clarify after a couple of your posts in this thread, are you now advocating getting rid of Caldwell?

I feel like he has been veey methodical in his approach and has had a plan this whole time.
Whether we like it or not, the Texans have the best roster in the AFC south, and the best coaching staff. The only thing they lack is what bit them in the [BLEEP] yesterday, and hopefully, they don't find their franchise qb.

Takes note that you're also a whiner as well.

What I'm saying is this feels an awful lot like the same old circles and the franchise is chasing it's own tail.  Traction has been difficult if not nearly impossible.

Lets see... let's go back to the beginning of the fall...

We suck and the roster is bad.  Let's fire the coach/GM.  Coughlin gone.

We're soon good again.  Roster improves in spite of high profile draft pick busts.  We slump after hitting the playoffs, so we fire only the GM.

Under new GM talent is depleted, losses pile.  Fire only the coach.  Del Rio gone.

Talent is an all time low.  Gets both GM and coach fired again.  Mularkey, Smith gone.

New regime.  Talent and wins improve, but both at a very trickling pace.  Team seems like it may be getting traction, but uncertain that it might actually slip back into the rut.

All this, during the current regime, has run through Caldwell.  The player and coach selections, all Caldwell.  Just as those who are placing responsibility on Gus for all under him, all that is under Caldwell.

An indictment of one, is an indictment of the other, is it not?  It may have not been that way in the past, but that was explicitly the way it was set up this time.  No "committee," no owner hand in the process... just Dave.  I'm not saying fire anyone.  I just think we need to take a breath and take a broader perspective on it all.  If there are internal issues, there's one guy at the top where the buck stops - and it's Dave.

Make no mistake, this is just as critical a year for Dave Caldwell as it is Gus Bradley.  If there aren't significant improvements across the board, it's arguable that's more on Caldwell than it is Gus.  His players, his coach.

Take note that you're a bigger whiner than anyone on this board at any given moment.  To borrow a word from FBT, your "shtick" is old, outdated, un-thought provoking, demeaning, unintelligent, unoriginal and most of all (9 times out of 10) unwarranted and unwanted. Also take note that you never back up your whining with anything more than name calling (which doesn't surprise me).. At least have a thought to back up what you post. These posters that you're attacking are at least making opinionated posts.. You on the other hand, hardly ever do.. All you do is continuously call them whiners for having an opinion about the team they love. Sure you're not a clots fan in disguise? You kinda sound like one..
Whatever. Our season's over. Grow the hell up. It's what happens going forward. Let's bang our heads on the walk about what's already happened.

Whatever.

This is a very reasonable take, and one I appreciate.  For the record, I don't believe there ARE internal issues.  I expect to see a very large jump in wins next year, and if we don't, chances are both Dave and Gus will be on their way out...and I'm not sure that I disagree with that.

We certainly have a lot of pieces in place, and it's time for that to bear results.  To be fair, after two years of blowouts every other week, to be in position to win every game expect 2 or 3 shows a great deal of improvement.  If we're not pulling down those close games as wins next year, it's time to move on from both.

Should we get a bib for you?
We need alot more than just a defense. We need everything. So yeah, as far as I see it another disappointing season as much as we all hope we will win. I am very happy that Hou was 1 & done. It should've been Jags that went to the playoffs and it would've been different but lost to many winables. Samething next year.....

The OP's original point is well taken, though. Seeing how the Texans destroyed us, and then were destroyed themselves by KC just a week later makes me realize how far we have to go.  Stats like Blake's are nice==but without the wins they really don't mean anything.

QB, WR, TE, RB, RG, RT, WLB??? We need all those?

Let's not put too much weight into how the Texans beat the Jags in the finale. We won't be fielding the same team in 2016, and until they get a real QB, they're always going to be good but not great.

There were a lot of key components missing for the Jags in that final game. Injuries did this team no favors, but with a draft, free agency, and getting guys like Marks, Linder, and Fowler back healthy, this team has the potential to look very much improved next year.

Getting angry because the Texans blew the Jags out only to get rocked in the wild card round by KC is just more wasted energy.
Looking at the Washington Redskins should tell you Gus Bradley can't coach worth a damn. They gave away years of high draft picks for RGIII and still are a competent team in the playoffs. And I don't know the majority of their pl a yers. It's all coaching and Gus is trash at his trade. I believe anyone is better than this guy at coaching at this point. He's a male cheerleader.

The Texans obviously have a better defense.  But despite our offenses' many flaws, I wouldn't trade them straight up for the Texans' offense. And that includes Hopkins and Foster.

Also, keep in mind we had Sam Young in for Parnell with Joekel looking like he was playing after binging on alcohol the night before. Our OL was flat out getting whooped and the game reflected this much. Defensively we also sorely missed Telvin Smith.

We have had 1 guy make the pro bowl out of our last 13 1st rd picks. That's almost the equivalent of giving away two entire drafts made up of just 1st rd picks.

I wish we could say that all we ever gave up was a year's worth of high draft picks.
So because you don't know the majority of their players make them a "bad team"? Fascinating
