Yep. John Idzik. Terrible GM but good at cap management.
Of course the Jaguars have a lot of cap space, almost all of their great players are on rookie contracts. In a couple of years when it's time to sign up Arob, Bortles, and Hurns to longer term contracts a good amount is going to get taken up for the next 10 years.

I think he ends up with Atlanta still.
That doesn't even include cap space from the likely cuts of Beadles (5.5 million), Clemons (4 million), Gerhart (3.5 million), and Sergio Brown (2.25 million).
They need veteran rushers. But thet have to be cateful because after this year well need space dor the pro bowlers in the pass game.

Another significant factor is players with expiring contracts who need to be re-signed. The cap hits of the new contracts have to be subtracted from the totals listed in the article (or else factor in the loss of a player).
It seems to me that the Jags are also well off in that category. Do the Jags have any key players

* Jags currently have
$108m committed to the cap next year. That gives us $42m to start with.
* If the Jags cut Clemons, Beadles, and Gerhart we're now down to $95m spending so our cap space is up to $55m.
* We have
$32.25m in cap space this year that we can roll over. That brings us up to $87+m

Along these lines, the Seahawks went from having a great salary cap situation to having a very tight salary cap situation quickly. It's a pleasant problem when you have to try to keep the core of a good team intact.
