Trent Kirchner is one of around 6 potential candidates that's been mentioned since Martin Mayhew was fired in early November. Another is Jags Director of Player Personnel Chris Polian.

Polian would be an interesting hire.
Quote:Tennessee fired G.M. Ruston Webster. Among other things, the Ken Whisenhunt hiring didn't turn out well:

I also read that they are considering Mularkey for HC but conducting other interviews.

<p class="" style="color:rgb(41,47,51);font-family:'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;">AFC East looks: Miami requesting HC interviews with Pats OC Josh McDaniels, Pats DC Matt Patricia, Bills asst HC Anthony Lynn, per sources.

That's my take as well.
Until Tennessee has a new G.M. in place, it's going to be difficult for them to conduct HC interviews unless they brought in an NFL Consultant to help handle the interviews.

This would be the week that the Dolphins would have to interview the Pats Assistant Coaches unless they are willing to wait until the Pats season is over.
Anthony Lynn has a connection with Dolphins executive Mike Tannenbaum from their Jets days.

I personally can't see either McDaniels or Patricia taking a job within the AFC East. I simply don't think they will. I personally would think long and hard as a GM about hiring someone from Belichick's defensive staff.

I agree with you providing that Bill Belichick prefers the specific Assistant Coach not to take a job within the AFC East. It's possible though that Belichick believes that one of his coaches might not be successful as a HC and as a result gives the green light to the Dolphins to hire him. Hence, trying to continue to keep the competition in the AFC down. It's certainly not been by accident that the Patriots have won the AFC East 13 out of the last 15 seasons.
Poor Tom. Ran out of town again.
I would welcome him back in a heartbeat
What do you all think of the changes that have happened so far?

A bit surprised San Fran fired Tomsula

This article says he is "stepping down." That is not the same thing as being run out of town if you mean he got fired.
He didn't step down on his own accord, so yeah he kind of got ran out of town. If it were up to him he would still be the HC for the Giants. They chose not to retain him

The only surprise there was most coaches are not one and done. He was not qualified for the job.
