Can't confirm, but there's been a few speculative hints from around the league that Babich ain't going anywhere.

Well IMO, since we will more than likely be in search of a new DC this year or the next just thinking of replacing Babich now for really anyone would be a plus. So some options if they do end up being fired/replaced would be Pagano, Pettine, Horton, Spagnulo, Mangini that come to mind. I understand many will disagree and Im not the best with the DC side of things but again these are better options IMO than what we have now.

A friend of a friend's who's nephew has a cousin that does custodial work for the ice cream company that delivers sundaes to the jaguars.

As far as we know directly from Babich's mouth, there wasn't even anything scheduled for Monday. I don't think there is any worry that he will lose his job. Gus knows he won't win enough next year, so if they told him to fire Babich, he probably would say no. Welcome to the lame duck season.

This is the worst run franchise in the NFL. Keeping the DC of the WORST defense in the Jags 20 year history? Is this a joke?

Jeff Fisch was fired on a Tuesday, not a Monday.

It's been less than 24 hours since our last game, Mr multi millions. Even Pagano hasn't been fired yet, and we knew that one was coming.

If the DC is not gone we really have fallen off the deep end. The excuse that two of his best linemen missed most of the season should not be the reason he keeps his job. The defense is often out of position and frequently looks confused....those two items are on the coaching staff.

Yeah Babich sucks, but what DC worth a damn would come to a team with a lame-duck HC anyway? The only change I see happening is maybe Gus taking over defensive play-calling or something along those lines.

I hear a lot about this scheme.  It's not the scheme.  The scheme itself works.  

 

1.) As far as i am concerned you don't have a starting safety on the team (with a set aside for James Sample, he really showed some promise).  It's not about playing single high or split safeties.  If the guys can't make plays they can't make plays.  

 

2.) They have no pass rushers.  We got lucky to get 5 from Odrick who was brought in as an athletic run defender to play the 4b position on defense.  Our Ends are a walking punch line.  Skuta never developed into whatever gimmicky term that Gus came up with.  Even when we blitz, the guys that we send on the blitz have a hard time winning one on one so unless we completely fool the other offense that spends millions of dollars on their own coaching staff then we just deplete coverage.  

 

3.) We have no real speed outside of Telvin.  We gave up a 40 yard screen pass on another long down and distance yesterday that was called back on a phantom illegal shift.  We are slow on defense and unaware.  

 

Its not the basic scheme, the scheme works.  The reason i fire babich is because when you are in a situation where nick marshall has to start at nickel back, common sense says don't let him get isolate on the other teams #1 receiver who runs a 3.9 with no SAFETY HELP AGAINST DREW !@#$%^^ BREES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
