LG going to be a big weak spot i see.
Shades of Burn-a-dough from last year.
It's a bit of a head scratcher considering we still have Omameh, Bowanko, Wells, and Shatley...3 of which just signed extensions.

Just in case anyone wants to read what PFF says about him (it's not pretty):

Good thing PFF isn't the end all be all, I'm not saying Walford is a quality signing but PFF is the same source that graded the Jags D 30th out of 32 teams, people like to look to PFF like they are the end all be all

It's March 11th, hold your horses dude

No they aren't, but they have had two guys watch and independently grade every snap he had made in the last 3 season.

Probably means a bit more than our opinion, which was "Who?".

Yea im not saying they don't put the time end, but some of their grades are baffling a flat out inexplicable, like my earlier example of grading the JAgs D 30th out of 32 teams. Did you see the 30th ranked D last season? I didn't, this is just one example of many of why PFF grades should be taken with a grain of salt

Do you not think our pro personnel people are not doing the same thing? Stop putting so much stock into PFF

Quote:"competitive"

Yeah, competitive. Got a problem with that dude?
Quote:Reading the Arizona boards, collectively, they don't seem to think of Warford as anything but a utility/backup player, able to play multiple spots on the OL.  They don't seem to care that he signed elsewhere.

I mean, how many "utility" guys do we need in our OL? Bowanko, Shatley, Omameh, and now Warford are all "utility" guys who play multiple positions in the OL...

They don't play them all that well, but I guess they can play them all...
He can play G/T and C on the line which is nice. Supposed to be a good athlete but didn't show much over 4 years.

He's a solid versatile depth guy, people are acting like he's going to be starting come Sept
Is any of it guaranteed? Because if not he will have to beat out Shatley, bowanko, well,Reed, and Omameh. I mean we signed that cowboy guard last year and even with all the injuries at LG we never brought him back in.
Quote:Yeah, competitive. Got a problem with that dude?
At this point yeah. We're competing to have possibly the worst guard spot in the league.

The Bronco say hello,as do the seahawks,as do the Vikings,as do about 6-7 other teams.

PFF probably knows more than us who collectively said "who?". Yeah, so much stock...

Yep we're in competition with those guys.

Thankfully we have the draft still
I think the issue for a lot of people is that our offensive line horribly under produced and All that we've done so far is trade for Albert (who should be an upgrade over Beachum) and signed a bunch of depth guys. If our backups last year couldn't beat out the below average starters, what does that tell you?

Adding more crap to the pile makes it more about quantity then quality.

I think we need to invest 3 draft picks between rounds 2-5 and upgrade. Let's have real competition between multiple starting candidates, not competition between a bunch of below average players.

Yeah, which makes the signing perplexing. His now the 28th highest paid guard out of 64 starting guards. Of course that will drop a few spots when Lang and others get signed, but it's still a very high salary for a backup.

I can't be thrilled if I'm Omameh and only signed for 700k just to have the Jags give a guy 3 mil AAV who played far worse than I did last year.
