Just how much does he have left in the tank and how much do you guys think he'll command? And what team takes a chance on him?

For the right price, why not? Sign a vet, draft another pass rush guy, get Fowler back and let's see how much better that pass rush looks. Load the deal up with incentives and let him earn his money.

Apparently they believe Mario Williams definitely still has a lot left in the tank, but that Rex Ryan came in and tore down a top 3 4-3 defensive unit and turned it into a bottom 10 3-4 unit and that really set Williams off, and once it was apparent that it wasn't going to work Williams started "justifiably" taking plays off.
Whatever the case may be I do agree, he'd be an upgrade over Chris Clemons, who should probably just retire.

Mario Williams would be great for us on a two year deal. People are talking like hes on his last legs.

Quote:You guys are funny. Guy had 13 sacks last year and you think his play just fell off a cliff? He is not a good fit in a 3-4 but he'd be perfect for this team.
If the money is close, it's easy to see Mario Williams sign with the team Jim Schwartz ends up with. Especially, since Williams had major success under Schwartz in 2014.

I'd like to see him be offered a four year deal with the first two years guaranteed (he's a vested veteran, so you kinda have to do that) but not a lot of guaranteed money.
Tell the guy that his job coming here is to rush the Passer. Stop the Runner on the way to the QB. Load his deal up with Sack incentives and tell him that he'll be given A LOT of opportunities to make those bonus checks.

Please, no more mediocre, over the hill stopgaps. If a guy can contribute for a few years, get him, but no replacing Chris Clemons with a slightly younger Chris Clemons. Super Mario stopped finding magic mushrooms this year. The princess was in another castle, and for the first time ever, he was content after taking down Iggy Koopa to walk away and call it a paycheck. Let someone else have him while we roll out DFJ, Marks, Odrick and whoever we draft.

I'll take the 2014 mario not 2015.

Welcome to the Jaguar message board. Where no free agent is better than what we already have.

Quote:http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/201...-williams/This is one guy I say yes, as long as its incentive laden. He doesn't have injury problems 30 is not that old for good pass rushers, I think we could use another good rotation guy and he could be one.

He wouldn't be coming here to be a rotation guy. He's going to want starters snaps and to be paid like a top tier DE as well.

Until they are on our team. At that point they pwn everyone ever.

Quote:The Jaguars should go after every top defensive pass rusher that hits the market in free agency. We need to replace at least 2 DEs.

He just wants to play in a 4-3 and the teams he's been on keep switching.

Caldwell has a ton of money to spend and next year could be the last for the regime if they don't get W's. I expect them to be huge players in free agency. Should be pretty fun keeping up on Twitter come mid March.

He's instantly the best player on the Dline.

DE is not the only thing we need, so he needs to spend wisely.
