Simply playing base D will take care of the "tanking"

We dont have to tank with Gus. Its like handing a picture frame to Chunk knowing he will break it.

Lol, truffle shuffle
I'm still laughing at people thinking we actually have to option to tank. Houston would clean our clocks even if we played hard. This defense has zero heart.

Oh were gonna lose, even if we started all our "stars"

But I don't consider it tanking too sit some of your core players in week 17 for one meaningless game

According to some, there are no meaningless games. I wonder if Marks agrees.
Play to win... no matter what.  Let the draft position take care of itself based on the final record.

That's the beauty of the situation. Playing to win is still basically tanking under the tutelage of Gus.

Exactly, I'm not saying lose for the draft pick, I'm saying lose to protect our key players from injury by getting them out of the game early. Let's use this game to evaluate some of our bench players.

Sounds like as good a plan as any based on the current status of this season, which is to say it's over.

Might as well see how since border line guys work out.
just another feather in PCGB's cap.
would much rather ruin the tinhorns day then tank for a higher pick.

... just thought of something.   If the Pats are crushing the Phins at halftime (which would secure the Texans playoff position), it may be possible that the Texans pull some of their starters in the 2nd half.

Is Brandon Weeden playing? Seriously, Brandon Weeden.

As much as this game means to Houston, there's still an excellent chance they don't look very good at all on offense. Brandon Weeden.

Like others have stated though, it would be a travesty to see BB5 or other main core players go down. Houston's D-line is pretty fierce lately. Jags O-line really needs to step up and protect Bortles or it could get REAL UGLY.
You play this game to beat a division rival in their house so they are the ones who have that taste in their mouths all off-season.

There is no one on the roster, that at this point, is trying to earn a spot here next year. Caldwell already knows who is staying and going. Branch could get 5 sacks and he would be gone.
Quote:Why do you think Kahn came out with the announcement that Bradley was being retained now instead of after the Sunday game........Kahn knows we're gonna tank, in fact he may have demanded it.

Quote:Bingo. I was thinking this same thing when I heard the news. Wish I would have said this before you just did!

You guys really hit the nail on the head with that ridiculous idea.

Khan on the announcement that Bradley is being retained in 2016:

"In the meantime, I expect his coaching staff and team to respond favorably to this news in preparation for Houston on Sunday and then begin thinking about what more they can provide next season. We have high ambitions.”
What's the difference between tanking and what we normally do?

Disagree. By hurting the tinhorns, we would be helping the clots make it. I can't speak for everybody but I hate the clots way more than houston.

This is all moot anyways, Weeden or whoever will light up the ice cream defense for 300+ yds and 3 TD whether we tank or not.
