A left tackle for Blake Bortles, given that former No. 2 overall pick Luke Joeckel doesn't appear to be the solution. Joeckel has been better at times in this, his third season as a pro, but he was an absolute disaster against the Falcons on Sunday. The problem is that the Jags also gave Jermey Parnell a big-money deal this offseason to play right tackle, so Joeckel can't exactly go there. The Jags will have plenty of cap space this offseason, though, and given how much they have invested in Bortles, it wouldn't be the stupidest thing in the world to go after Seahawks tackle Russell Okung when he hits the market.

I would be 100% on board with this. It's become clear Joeckel is not the answer.

The only problem with that is Russell Okung is not good at all.

Better than the Joke.

Probably but not by much. Also Okung is extremely injury prone.

No to Okung unless its a cheap deal.
Nah. He's average.
Once Linder comes back, our line will be much improved.

I remember when Lewis came back, all of a sudden our run game started clicking.

He's definitely above average and would be a massive upgrade over Luke.
Center and LG needs an upgrade. If we had another Linder at LG and a better than average center, we'd be pretty solid.

LT needs to be upgraded as much as anywhere but center.

Just not true. Luke had a bad game against Atl, but he's been pretty solid all season. LG is dragging this line down considerably.

He's been OK. Absolutely below average and we could easily stand to upgrade. He folds like a tent even against mediocre ends and constantly commits costly penalties.

Afraid not ,ask any Seahawks fan and they'll tell you the same.

Also..here are Okungs game totals each season.

2010: 10

2011: 12

2012: 15

2013: 8

2014: 14

Think he was injured a few days ago too,,,Okung is not really an upgrade.

He's had 7 penalties all year which is average. I can't find pressures allowed stats but he's not as bad as you make him seem.

Can he be upgraded? Sure. But fixing LG (Cann or Linder) will do a lot more than you may realize for the left side of the line.
I would bring Okung in to compete with Joeckel, but he will command too much money.

Agreed, Beadles is easily the weak link. Linder will take his RG spot back and I see Cann taking over LG next season.

Joeckel is good for 1 really bad beat a game (minus this past game against the Falcons, easily his worst game this season). After he gets straight up abused that one time, per game, you usually don't notice him again.
Bortles will be fine with Joeckel at LT as long as the rest of the line is shored up. He's not so bad that he needs to be replaced immediately.

At the very least, I believe Russell Okung will hit the open market in 2016. The Seahawks have so much invested in other players on their roster that it would seem like they won't be able to use the Franchise Tag on Okung. Being that the demand for LTs on the NFL level is higher than the supply, it would make sense for Okung to at least test the FA market. There are many teams that can afford to pay him more than the Seahawks can.

Likely we get Mack at center and move either Linder to LG to keep Cann comfortable at RG or switch Cann to his original position and Linder takes back over at RG

This would be my guess
Harp harp harp....

I would bet my bottom dollar, our Oline next year is

Joker, Linder, Mack/Wiz, Cann, Parnell

or

Joker, Cann, Wiz/Mack, Linder, Parnell

And I'm willing to bet, having Linder next to him, will help Joker a lot more than having Beadles next to him.
