Quote:He shattered records in high school, at Heritage HS in Football and was very successful in Track also. I seen a couple of his games live, while he was still in high school. Definitely one of the best athletes on the field then and he played multiple positions.

I always had hopes that he would at least get a shot at the NFL, possibly as an UDFA. His Junior and Senior years at Colorado State convinced me that he should definitely be a draftable prospect. He had injury issues his sophomore season, if I remember correct and only had limited playing time as a freshman. I didn't think he would have been drafted in the 3rd round, but I was happy to see it.

You could clearly see flashes of greatness in HS, but that can be said about a lot of athletes who never became anything after HS. He still has plenty he needs to work on, but I'm sure he's getting some great schooling with Brees and Sean Payton around.

I'll always be pulling and rooting for him, no matter what.

  Thanks for your input!

Garrett Grayson is indeed fortunate to end up with a team that has Sean Payton as HC and Drew Brees as the starting QB in the latter part of his career.   Payton and Brees are amongst the best Offensive Football and QB minds that have come down the pike.  Sean Payton could decide to remain with the Saints as HC instead of pursue other opportunities if he believes that Grayson is showing signs that he's the team's long term QB solution.

Grayson is pretty comparable to Brees, in my opinion. Grayson is a little bigger and more athletic, but both of them need to win with touch and accuracy. Neither have a cannon for an arm, but that's ok.

I really believe he went to the best possible place, for him to develop his talents. I don't believe Brees is done yet and I don't believe Grayson is ready to take over right now. Sitting behind Brees for 2-3 years will do him wonders, in my opinion. Especially if Payton decides to stay around there.

He might never be an All-Pro, top 5 QB in the league, but I really do think he can develop into a solid starter, at the least. Maybe I have a little hometown, backyard homerism, since he came from my neck of the woods, but I do think he can play in this league.

Either way, like I said before, I'll always pull and root for him, no matter what. It's not every day you can say you know somebody who made it into the NFL.

Prescient, if I'd just said Hightower.
[BLEEP] Drew Brees and the horse he rode in on.
