Same old song and dance. People are clamoring for more free agents. Next, in a few weeks, they will be complaining about how the Jags overspent in free agency. Fast forward a year or two, and these same guys that everyone is cheering for like crazy will be the same ones that everyone will blame Caldwell for signing in the first place.
It's like a bad re-run.
Quote:could be this years prince for us in that sense
You'd be well over a thousand pounds on your D-Line.. There has to be a chart somewhere for that. Pounds per sac ratio of D-Lines or something
Can we get KY in here to confirm? Just a sec, he'll be here
Quote:OK...So the Jags did a masterful job of building a solid defensive corps through free agency on Thursday. Now, what is missing? What is left in the market to fill the glaring needs of our offense? Who do we target next? The obvious answer is O-Line.
1) TJ Lang - best G still available, but is meeting with Seahawks today. Jags have seemingly shown no interest
OLDER, STARTING TO GET INJURED, LOOKING FOR ONE LAST PAYDAY
2) Nick Mangold - A Pro-Bowl Center who would be an excellent stop gap for the next couple years and could move Linder to his RG spot
SAME HERE, HOW MUCH IS LEFT IN THE TANK?
3) Kelvin Beachum - We know his abilities and could play LG and would be a solid backup to Albert at LT
HE'D BE AN EXPENSIVE BACKUP TACKLE, AND HE LACKS THE GIRTH TO BE A DOMINATING GUARD
4) Ryan Clady?
HE SHOULD RETIRE. CAN'T PLAY A FULL SEASON ANYMORE
5) DJ Fluker?
BUST
My choice would be to sign Mangold and re-sign Beachum and then draft BAP OT/G in 2nd (Robinson, Lamp, Bolles, Dawkins, Feeney) and BAP C/G in 3rd (Pocic, Elflein, Orlosky, Fuller) or TE in 3rd (Shaheen, Butt, Everett, Leggett)
Depending on cost, I would love to see Beachum back. Parnell isn't that great and Beachum could take over for him and Parnell could try out guard. Alternatively, Beachum could play LT and Albert could move to guard. At worst he would be a backup which would be a nice thing to have considering Albert, in all likeliness, will get injured.
T.J Lang if he's cleared medically. Outside of him. Maybe Fluker? Right now I am thinking we're trading down in RD1 to select a lineman or we're sitting tight and taking Fournette.

Think Fluker signed with Eagles.
Pretty sure it was Warmack that signed with the Eagles. Another Bama boy

Are you thinking of Warmack?
Probably only low cost Special Teams/Depth signings from this point on.
The draft is deep at RB and TE.
So I see BAP at #4,the best O linemen they can get along with a TE after.
Then who knows.
I think it should be Lang and Beechum

So basically, everyone is dumb?
I'm excited like most are for the big additions. I do think they need to add a quality starter at Guard along with more depth. I'm intrigued to see who else they bring in over the next few days.
Kayvon Webster

When yall gonna learn that Beachum sucks. He's terrible.
Quote:I say sign Mangold and move Linder over to LG!
back to RG and Cann back to LG.

I didn't say that. What I did say is pay close attention to who is lauding these signings. Remember them. Then, if things don't work out, watch how fast these very same people start criticizing the very thing that they are cheering on right now.
Too many people are puppets and clamor about all the mistakes the franchise makes.
For instance, if you could only read the FA and draft threads on past players, you would completely understand what I'm saying.

This is just a false statement

Brandon Linder is better player! Why would you put Cann there instead. yeah Cann played LG at USC but that was college and 3 years ago. I met AJ Cann at the Towne Center on Tuesday nice guy

Because Linder is the better right guard. When him and Parnell played next to each other two years ago before he got hurt, that side of the line was solid.
To the Brooklyn dude who says nothing but negative things 99.9% of the time, will you just leave this site please? Don't act like you can't start a rookie at Guard and have him have a good year. It literally happens every single year. Now as far as our next signing goes, I still think we may try and grab Martellus Bennett. He has a history with Tom, and would provide a nice threat in the red zone, as well as being able to hold his own blocking. If you listened to Dave talk today, we aren't done yet.
