Also forget what I said above about Martellus Bennett lol

Quote:Brandon Linder is better player! Why would you put Cann there instead. yeah Cann played LG at USC but that was college and 3 years ago. I met AJ Cann at the Towne Center on Tuesday nice guy
Cann actually had early success at LG.

He regressed when he moved to RG.  Let him play where he is more comfortable and he'll be a better player.

Linder has already been successful at RG and at C.  Why move him to LG?  You'd still have a hole at C and RG.

Cann at LG, Linder at C= one hole at RG.

Cann at LF, Linder at RG=one hole at C.

Linder at LG, Cann at RG=two holes-C and RG.
Quote:Rg3

I'd be cool with bringing him in. At worst he's a better backup than Henne
I thought i heard rg3 has regressed in being able to read even half the field and why he struggles.

early success at LG? Not true Cann started 13 games as a rookie all at RG and then Jags went and signed Zane Beadles meh to start at LG.

You are right.  I was thinking he replaced Beadles, when he actually replaced an injured Linder.

Good catch and mea culpa.
It's Earl Watford, ex Cardinals guard, according to Rapoport.
2 years $6 millions

League source expects the #Jaguars to also sign #Vikings LB Audie Cole and #Lions DT Stefan Charles if they pass physicals.

Mike Kaye.
Watched Cole at NC State. He's got some good instincts. One of those make the most of his skill athletes

Agreed. Big LB who can play inside or out. I like him for solid depth.

I liked him, especially in pass drops.

If we get him, he's good quality depth, IMO.
Agree. He's one of those whose name you never hear called, which means he just doing his job

RB Latavius Murray to visit Jax and Seattke next week.

Considered one of the most attractive FA RBs under 30...

Backfield getting crowded. If they land him, who eventually goes, and how does that affect pick 4?
Reports are out now that we're pursuing Murray from OAK. 6'3 - 230 pound RB. Been a decent back in OAK the last two years. Would be interesting to see him here in the mix with Yeldon and Ivory. This is really shaping out to be quite a unique free agency class.

We needed a CB. We got Bouye.

We needed a DE/DT. We got Campbell.

We needed a SS. We got Church.

We needed a LT. We got Albert.

We needed depth on special teams and on the offensive line. We've added that.

Adding a RB like Murray into the mix whose coming off of a year where he pretty much carried the bulk of the ground game in OAK is interesting. Not trying to get too far ahead but it really seems like we're going to try and trade out of that fourth overall spot next month or..... or..... draft a QB.

Keep dreaming if you think we're going to draft a QB at 4

I am not dreaming. I still think they'll try to trade down and add a starter on the right side of the offensive line or sit tight and take the best available pass rusher on the board. But, you never know. Stranger things have happened on draft night.

Drafting a QB at #4 overall this year would be one of the stupidest moves in this franchise's history. It's one thing to bring in competition via free agency to push Bortles, but drafting a QB would sink Bortles before he even has a chance to right the ship. Remember what the Chargers did to Drew Brees? Yeah, that's how stupid we could look.

Then there's the most obvious reason: There is no QB worth taking at the #4 spot this year. None of these QBs are better than Bortles as they are now. Kizer has the most potential and MIGHT eventually be better than Bortles, but he needs a LOT of work done to him first - which would kill any chance of a Jags playoff run for the next 3 years.

The general public, armchair scouts and analysts who get paid to have an opinion may feel that way about the QB class this year but that doesn't mean this front office does. Nobody thought Bortles would go to us at number three the year we drafted him. And nobody on this board, at least to my knowledge, has any access to the interviews and meetings our team has with these QB prospects.

Again, I am leaning towards the possibility of a trade down. But I wouldn't be shocked at all to see a QB's name pop up on draft night. Stranger things have happened. We may not like Trubisky, Kizer, Mahomes or Watson. But one of these teams just might. And they may have a 1ST RD grade on them. That's including us. Of course it's all speculation. Again, we could end up trading down or going with Solomon Thomas or Johnathan Allen if he's there.

At this point after a huge upgrade on defense and no good OL at 4, I wouldn't mind if coughlin picked Watson. Based on Fournette's potential I would like to draft him but RBs are usually the first ones out of the league. We could add to the DL but we seem to be set there. Watson and come push Bortles. If Bortles doesn't perform Watson will be the QB. It's kinda like insurance. The worst thing that could happen is Blake fails and we end up like the Texans with a good D but no QB or worse. If you go all in on Bortles, Fourntte has to be the pick. But I wouldn't be surprised if Coughlin gets his QB at 4, they want to win now. Bortles could always be traded.
