246 yards and 20 points surrendered isn't grade school level.  Julio Jones is a beast from the red lagoon.  The Secondary played okay, pass rush forced some errant throws.

Quote:Speaking of "disruptive force."  I don't understand why Oehser wants to constantly call Miller Pro-Bowl level.  Does anyone see that?  I don't think I ever hear his name called and I certainly don't see the D Line disrupting plays much.

He's a nose tackle. What are you expecting him to be a sack master?
Draft Hargreaves and then a DL guy in the 2nd, sign a FS and Vinny Curry, and then hope Dante Fowler comes back stronger than ever.

Quote:But but but we got House. Julio Jones took him to school today.

You think House is bad? Do you think he would look better if we disrupted the QB at all? Which cornerback would be able to defend perfectly thrown balls (basically pitch and catch) against one of the best WR in the league?
Marks won't be back next year.. he was out of shape when he tried to come back from injury this year... that snowball is building up speed. I would let it roll right outta Jacksonville.

You say some of the stupidest things.
WE NEED A GOOD FS.

Quote:Really?  What game were you watching?  House broke up multiple passes today.  The PI late in the game to extend the drive to give the Falcons the 2nd field goal was total [BAD WORD REMOVED].  And I have no idea where you saw pressure on those 3rd and long plays.  The few times there was pressure no one could wrap Ryan up and he would squirt free and find an open man.  The secondary needs a pass rush to be successful.  No one can cover a wide receiver in today's NFL where the defense is flagged for breathing on a WR.
You are talking out of both sides of his mouth.

1. House broke up multiple passes? Julio beat him all game. If he broke up multiple, as in 3 passes, and lost 8,  that is not a good day.

3. You claim you have know idea where I saw pressure on those 3rd and longs. Strawman argument, i specifically said the 4th quarter pressure dropped off and that is when we could not get them off the field with 3rd and longs. Nice try sneaking in a strawman there.

3. "the few times we got pressure, Ryan would squirt free..." No Sheet Sherlock, that is exactly what I said, Ryan was just better in being able to squirt free, however we were getting pressure or he wouldn't have to "squirt" anywhere, and he also completed a few passes with guys having him wrapped up.. Nothing much can be done about that.

The seconday does indeed need a pass rush to be successful. I think everyone agrees with that. But we had a decent rush in the first half and they went up by 14. House had a terrible day against the best in the league, not much you can do about that, but don't act like House is some great corner or had a great day, he did not. Thanks for making my points for me while you rambled non-sensically in circular and strawman arguments.

23 POINTS.

THE JAGS GIVE UP 27.1 POINTS PER GAME. ITS 30TH BEST IN THE NFL AND WORST IN JAGS FRANCHISE HISTORY.

TEAMS THAT GIVE UP 27 PPG DO NOT MAKE THE PLAYOFFS.

It's really not rocket science. This defense is terrible and so is Gus.

Having the highest scoring QB for the other team doesn't help.
Quote:How are we going to fix it?

Send them back to secondary school.
1. Hargreaves in the 1st

2. Pass rusher in the 2nd

3. Berry, Weddle, or Gipson in FA

4. Irvin, Hali, or another vet pass rusher in FA

5. Hopefully Sample is who they thought he was and beats out Cyp in training camp at SS

6. Also a healthy Fowler and Marks will help a lot

Quote:The whole defense is garbage.

I disagree Poz (while old is still good), Telvin Smith is a hard worker whom is good against the run, Odrick for an LE or DT isnt bad, Marks is good when healthy, Clemons used to be scary to OLine now he's too old but every now and then his spin move catches OLine, Cyprien is like Bortles up one week down the next but part of it is really bad DBs around him.  This team needs a great FS but desperately needs a great Corner one that scares teams like Revis does.
