I would also scrutinize the secondary coach. He hasn't been developing players. Cyprien,gratz,DMac, Colvin (not the pedigree Colvin has).

Somebody needs to be held responsible for all of the 3rd and long conversions.  If they need 10 they get 11..if they need 20 they get 21.  Olson has been a night and day improvement to Fisch.  We need a new D Coordinator.

And when they did come with pressure it was effective, it's just not enough. If the opposing QB is going to complete passes, change it up with pressure, if he's still completing it then fine. But....he better be getting rattled. Make the ball boy have to show him to his car after the game

That's the nature of the scheme. It's vulnerable in the middle of the field and teams exploit it all day. The coaches have stubbornly stuck to that base, despite the lack of a pass rush or the presence of a safety with single high range. Perfect example was on that Julio post where House was left to dry as Cyp was dropped too deep into single high. QBs will eat that all day.

This team needs better DBs too!  I don't understand why so many fans hype them up year after year.. its been the weakest DB core in Jaguars history for the last 3 years.. it got slightly better because of House (thus proving that lack of talent is a big part of it).

Considering some of the bums we've trotted out to get torched by Peyton, I'ma gonna have to say "Nah" to this.

I think Babich will lose his job, but honestly, there is just a lack of talent on defense. Jaguars need to spend the offseason building on it.

Fisch was fired 2 days after the last game last season. So we've got about 15 days till Babich is gone if we follow a similar path.

Ironically, this game ended up meaning nothing. But those third and longs were so stupid. They converted all of them, with no pressure to Ryan. We need fowler so bad.

...only if we also sack the guy who hired him also; otherwise, it'll just be more of the same.

But changing OCs last offseason seemed to do wonders for our offense.

We need to get two pass rushers beyond Fowler.  As a GM,  we shouldn't trust Fowler. 

 

1) We don't know what kind of a player he is. Never played a singled down in NFL. Whether he is injury prone player or he is the incarnation of Derrick Harvey. 

2) He is coming of ACL. 

 

We should keep piling the Pass rushers just like what we did for the WRs when Blackmon was suspended.  Last year we should've taken Gregory or someother pass rusher. This year the crop seems week. Last year it was good just like the year before for WRs, where our need matched the supply.  That strategy worked when Lee didn't work out the way we wanted, Robinson emerged.  Keep piling pass rushers in bulk(draft, free agency), thats the only way to solve the problem.  It will create competition and let the better pass rusher start.  For that we need a good coaching staff in the defensive side  (Just like WR coach Sullivan).  I think Todd wash can do that. 

 

I am sure Dave will do that.

If you want to see a change then Gus needs to go too.  Or we need to entirely scrap his defense with the new guy coming in.  I don't expect either to happen and I expect similar results next year.
