Quote:Thinking the same thing, who do we root for Sunday, the Texans or colts?
Neither. We hope it ends in a tie and yes this can happen.
A tie between Houston and Indy doesn't do us much good, unless we finished 8-8 to their 7-8-1.

Either way, both the Texans and Colts would have to lose again.

I would say that the biggest thing we are all in agreement on is that having the opportunity this late in the season to still talk about a chance to be in the playoffs and not talking about the draft has got to be the best accomplishment of this team this year

Correct me if I'm wrong but with a texans win our loss didn't really mean anything.

It means the Colts would have to lose the last two, rather than just one of the last two.
For Frank's Sake....give it up already lol
Quote:actually we could win a 3 way tiebreaker at 7-9 if the texans beat the colts, and the titans beat both of them.  the colts can beat the dolphins and it wouldnt matter.

if the Texans beat the Colts this weekend, us losing to the Falcons isnt a deal breaker.  the only thing that would be different is the Colts would have to lose to the Titans in week 17 whereas if we beat the Falcons we would need the Colts to lose to either the Dolphins or Titans, wouldnt matter which one.

I don't feel like doing the math, but if this guy's right then it didn't really matter much that we lost.

yep we are still alive.  A win today would have been nice because the saints game next weekend wouldnt have mattered as much.  But since we lost today, the saints game is now a must.  With a Texans win today, we really only needed to go 1-1 against Atl and NO.  But a home game against Atlanta, a team on an historic slide into futility, should have been the easier game to win.  But now we must go on the road and beat Drew Brees.... and since we'll rush 4 and play zone behind it, I think we can all agree Brees will throw for 400+ yards and 4 TDs.

To win the division we need to win our last two games (NO and Hou) and we need Houston to lose to Tennessee in week 16 and we need Indy to lose to Tennessee in week 17.  Indy's game against Miami in week 16 is irrelevant... win or lose doesnt matter.

If we werent so bad I'd actually think we have a shot.  Houston and Indy are both playing with terrible backup QBs.  If Mariota were to get hot 2 weeks in a row, it's possible.  But we stink.  It's not like we played well and lost to the Falcons.  We looked terrible. If Tenn does pull off those upsets, it doesnt matter.  We arent finishing 7-9.  Too inconsistent.  Too many mistakes.  Not enough good players.  We just arent that good.

Is it still mathematically possible?

Pretty sure colts and texans lose out and we win out we are still behind the Texans

Nah we are ahead on a tiebreaker. Not sure which one

Ok one question, if we win out and Houston lose out, but Indy loses to Miami, does Tenn still have to beat Indy?

I thought we win the 3 way tie regardless of how Indy gets to 7-9, but correct me if i'm wrong

The thing is we will know most likely before our game Sunday since its a 4 pm game if we are still alive, since Tenn vs Houston game should be over

All I wont is the last game of the season to be for the playoffs, how great will that be

If the clots beat the tacks, they are in. Miami game doesn't matter. They'd win the divisional record tiebreaker.

Houston must lose both.

clots must lose to the tacks. can win vs MIA

we must win both games VS Nola and the tinhorns

Yes. If Indy beats Tenn, the Colts division record would be 4-2.

The best possible division record for the Jags is 3-3 if they beat Houston.

Tenn must beat Indy for the Jags to have any chance.
Thanks guys thats all I needed to know

Its not as big a long shot as some are making it out to be, I think Houston has the most pressure on them, and they also have the worst QB

Its gonna be fun two weekends if Tenn beats Houston Sunday

Houston's QB situation is a mess, so that's good.

The worrisome thing about the game is that the last time they played, Tenn had to start Mettenberger (just like this time). Houston's defense absolutely DOMINATED Tenn that week. I hope it's not a repeat.
