Quote:Yeah, this division is still so bad that the colts don't even have Luck playing almost all season and still have a good chance of winning the title. I know that Luck didn't look so good in a few games very early this year. But seriously, if he played all season it probably would've been yet another default/cakewalk into the playoffs.

Hopefully this is the last season of a cakewalk division for those guys. Hopefully the Jags progress continues and they seriously compete with the Luck-led Colts.

IMHO, if Luck had played and been healthy all season, there would've been no talk of division contention for the Jags and Tinhorns. A 5-9 team wouldn't even be in the conversation right now. I just hope the Jags have something for those guys next year!

Obviously it is not a "cake walk" season for the Colts because right now Houston is leading the division. The two teams have been tied at the top almost all season regardless of who Indy's QB was.

I meant if Luck had been playing and healthy all season. IF that was the case, they would already have this division in the bag IMO.

Because they have had to rely on a backup all year is the reason this division has been a 3 team race.

Not sure about that considering how bad Luck played this season.

You're right. Colts would definitely have the division wrapped up.

Really?  Andrew Luck SUCKED this year before the injuries.  Hassleback was 4-0 at one point in this season.

That's my opinion too.

However, I think this division is finally starting to shape up somewhat in competitiveness (particularly the Jags with Bortles progressing; Texans are "decent"; Titans starting to get a little better).

I don't think we'll see more seasons where the colts can just walk through the AFCS if their starting QB is playing. There's at least going to be some competition going forward.

Not really...tge reason it looks competitive is the Colts are sucking. When they get better, everyone else will stay in 7-9 territory
Quote:Houston @ Indianapolis Man, I dunno! How is anyone supposed to pick this one?! You've got a Third String QB who, as far as I can tell, has been on the roster since last Saturday and standing behind an Offensive Line that allowed Jacksonville to get three sacks. On top of that, he's either going to be throwing the ball to a guy with a giant fork sticking out of his back (Andre Johnson) or handing it to one who just filed his Social Security claim (Frank Gore). But that ain't all! On the other side, there's yet another third string QB who is manning an Offense that got taken apart piece by piece by Belichik on National television just last week. Then again, the Indianapolis Defense did just give up four touchdowns in a half last week, so maybe he's got a shot. That being said, I think Houston's Defense takes care of this one over the last vestige of the Pagano era. Houston for the win.

All that being said above, I do appreciate Pagano's dignity in his press conference this past week. While I did not see it live, from what I read he came across as having a great perspective on his role. Kudos sir.

Quick! Someone name me the QBs who finished that game! WIN

Tennessee @ New England This one looks to be tricky with all of the injuries piling up on New England but don't be fooled. Belichik has enough sway and input on the Defense to take apart a bad Offense and he's got the horses to pull it off. Losing Easley won't help much, but I think he's got enough savvy to handle the rambling Mariotas. It's going to be interesting to watch the Tennessee pass Defense go against Tom Terrific. As much as I don't like them and am convinced that they smell of a rancid jar of mayonnaise, their Pass Defense is pretty good. Still don't think it'll be enough in Foxborough though. New England takes this one.

So is Mariota done for the year or no? What effect will Mettenberger have on that Offense? WIN

Atlanta @ Jacksonville I'm way too anxious about this one. Despite the blowout loss last week to a surging Carolina team, Atlanta has held games close this season. With Poz being limited at best, they will probably try and shove D. Freeman down the field and then let Jones run rampant across the middle of the Defense. And remember, the Jacksonville scheme seems designed to let Pass Catchers run free across the middle. The answer? The pass rush. Get to Ryan early and often and keep him from setting up a deep route to his WRs. Also, if there was ever a game for Julius Thomas and Marqise Lee to blow up, this is it. I went against my homerism last week and it bit me where the Good Lord split me, so I'm going to go back to my old way on this one. Gimme JAX to win.

Listen to your gut. Listen to your gut. Listen to your gut. LOSS

Last week: 2 - 1

Overall: 26 - 21

You've also have to look at the quality of opponents Hasslebeck was facing vs who Luck was facing.

Luck was getting: Panthers, Patriots, Broncos, Jets....

Hasslebeck 4 wins were vs: Jags, Texans, Bucs, Falcons....

So while Luck was struggling, Luck's last game before he was injured was vs. Broncos where he had his best game of the season, beating one of (if not the best) defenses in the NFL. Plus, Luck kept us competitive in ALL games we played in.
So basically neither of them can beat good teams and can feed off a weak schedule?...

Bortles would have the Colts in the playoffs weeks ago.

Uh what? Bortles has NEVER beat a quality opponent + if he can't get into the playoffs when he's facing the QB likes of Hoyer/Yates/Weeden, Hasslebeck/Whitehurst, & Mariota/Mettenberger.... It might be awhile until your boy does ANYTHING.

Ummmm, he beat a 2 time Super Bowl winning QB and had to come back to do it.

The funniest part is he literally just beat the colts a couple of weeks ago, at least CW is staying consistent about Bortles, even if it means admitting the colts are garbage.

Yeah... I've stated that MANY, MANY times... Colts aren't good this year. And beating Hasselbeck/Whitehurst isn't impressive... At all.

Yeah. because Eli is SO consistent. That's 1. Which is a stretch, but I'll give it to you.
