Quote:Bro, we had (2) 100 yard games by our RBs last year. None of our RBs even rushed for 500 yards.

We absolutely have to address the running back position. Fournette is being compared to Bo friggin Jackson and has been said to run with better pad-level then Adrian friggin Peterson.

Fournette will touch the ball 25 times a game and will heavily impact our entire offense and take tons of pressure off Bortles.

No other player will impact or help Bortles as much as Fournette will. I have no idea why you are against the best RB in the draft.

If I told you he would rush for 1200 yards and score 8 TDs and help us keep the lead late in the 4th quarter, then you will take that every time. Not some DE or DT that is going to rotate in and out and possibly give us 7 or 8 sacks.

Wake up kid. Fournette is the best possible draft pick for this team. Heck even if we were picking #1 overall, he would still have the biggest impact on our aweful QB.

Our scheme was designed for the passing game while totally neglecting the run game. We don't absolutely need a RB as Ivory can get the job done in a proper scheme with legit run blockers. Now I do think we get a RB in this deep draft... perhaps even Fournette although I think Jonathan Allen will be the pick at #4 ... but if for some reason we fail to draft a RB ... we're ok with Ivory, and TJ is NOT as bad as some here suggest.

Jags02, I don't agree. Those heap of RBs had a 3 ypc average. Yeldon is a 3rd down back.

Would like to see a list of the ypc

But at no time did we feed either RB. The two split time getting only freak, sporadic carries here or there as the Jaguars led the league in pass attempts. I'd like to see how they do if actually fed. The only time they came close to truly being fed like they should was the game when our new OC first took over. We saw a glimpse of how well they'd do in a legitimate run scheme. You really can't judge them behind that joke of an offensive system they ended up with last year.

This is a pretty interesting dichotomy I have found. When some of us have talked about how people like Bortles, Fowler, Cann, or Gipson were bad a lot of people are very quick to jump to the OMG COACHES AND SYSTEM SUCKED GIVE THEM A PASS.

But if anyone tries to do that with Yeldon and Ivory it's OMG THEY SUCK 3 YPC MUST DRAFT RB AT 4.

I don't get why it's only the RBs that don't get the same treatment.

I did a topic on what do you think about Gipson and most of the guys basically said he was very average. And some said he's terrible. And some said wait and see.

The problem with Yeldon is he only has a couple of 100 yard games. He's had plenty of time to show what he can do and he is simply a guy.

Ivory is getting old and his best years are long gone. We do not have a starter at this point, we just have guys. No studs at all. Grant is our speedster and that's not saying much.

Ivory is 28 and has had exactly 1,000 carries in his career, that's extremely light usage for his age. If the people who want Fournette had their druthers we would have over 1k carries before his rookie deal expires. Well, except that his ankle very well might not even hold up that long I suppose.

So short sighted.
