We have the best points differential in the division with -31. A far cry from the dark days of -163 last year and -202 in 2013.

The sad thing is we won't get past the division record tiebreaker. But I love seeing huge progress on offense. The dark days are over. Now let's get a center who will not snap the ball over Blake's head.

Now watch Atlanta completely demolish us.
See what so many years as a Jags fan has done to me?

Who said we can't get a center and defensive players in the same offseason?

For sure. I was just lamenting that the number of points scored will not help us get to the playoffs. It will be great next year when our improvement on offense translates into wins.

ZNation will have something to say about that. If the Falcons are as bad in Jacksonville as they were in Charlotte, we will win next week. I am just afraid that will not happen.

Quote:At a 25.1ppg average. The funny thing about this is that even today on call in shows, you've got idiot fans who are calling to say the team should move on from Olson at the end of the season. It's like they're simply incapable of recognizing what a tremendous job he's done with such a young group. Think about how young the skill position players are on this roster, and think about what they could potentially achieve over the next several years for this team. Olson won't be a coordinator for very long if things continue to trend the way they have.
Defense is tied 30th with 27.5 points per.

A 2nd year QB on the verge of TRIPLING his TD output last year is still being bashed.
I wonder if people still aren't seeing progress with this team.
Last year we averaged 15.6 ppg, which ranked last. This year, we're 8th or 9th averaging 25 ppg-or 10 ppg more than last year.
Prior to this year, the best record under Bradley was 4-12. This year, we've won five and still have three games left. Unlike previous years, we're actually relevant in December....MID December at that. When was the last time that happened?

Shad Khan told Jerry Sullivan not to seek other jobs in 2013. I would love it if he tells other teams they don't have permission to talk to Greg Olson. We obviously would not have improved so much on offense if Jedd Fisch had stayed here.

Yea, if the offense is in the top ten again next year and Bortles is looking like one of the best QBs in the league then Olson will be a head coach somewhere come 2017.

I've got a guy in my tailgating group that continually bashes Bortles. It's getting really annoying. Funny thing is, this guy never...ever...stays past halftime.

There would be way less whining about the offense if the point totals they were putting up ended in more wins. That falls on the defense and has nothing to do with Olson.

Many people seem to focus more on what Blake Bortles still needs to work on or the untimely turnovers than his improvements in footwork, throwing mechanics, etc. They need to stop doing that. The statistic we should be looking at is the touchdown/interception ratio. As a rookie, Blake was intercepted 17 times. Several of those were pick sixes. That was more than one per game. PPG is certainly looking better, but I will be much happier about it when we have a good kicker who is nearly perfect on PAT attempts.
To answer your question, it was the year we had NFC East and AFC East teams on our schedule. We played against the Colts, Redskins, Raiders, and Patriots in December IIRC.

I will worry about that if/when other teams start calling him. For now I am just happy to have Greg Olson on the staff.

Then why did you say you would love it if he told other teams they don't have permission to talk to him if you won't worry about it until they do?

Our division has been so bad that we can compete even at 5-8.
I wouldn't say we are ahead of expectations. I think we are right on track. 6 or 7 wins is pretty much what people expected. They also expected the Colts to win 11 games per usual.
