I'm posting this now because I didn't get the chance to go to the game because I was feeling under the weather, which sucked because the weather was great.  However, my Jaguars more than made up for it today!  My thoughts...

1.  I don't know what was wrong with Bortles and the offense in the first half. At times, it looked like the Clot back eight were in the Jaguars playbook, because they cut off a lot of passing lanes.  Bortles had two fumbles that were infuriating, including another shotgun snap recovered for a TD.  The offensive line was not protecting well.  Just not a good scene.  In the second half, it was a completely different offense.  42 FREAKING SECOND HALF POINTS!!!!!  OUT FREAKING STANDING!!!  AR15?  Check!  Hurns?  Check.  Julius Thomas-his 4th straight game with a TD?  Check!  Denard Robinson?  Check!  Bortles on the sneak?  Check!  This game mitigates the Patriot loss earlier in the year!  This was the biggest win since 2000 when we beat Cleveland 48-0, and I'm not sure we've hit 50 since 1999.  Outstanding!!!!

2.  Continuing on Bortles, he has now thrown for 30 TDs and 13 INTs on the season, and he has three games remaining.   Had you told any of us that Bortles would be at 30 TDs and 13 INTs for the year before the year, every single one of us would have taken it gladly.  He has the potential to put up mind boggling numbers, and he's still growing and still learning.

3.  I can remember when Tony Brackens was here.  Brackens was constantly criticized by Jaguars fan alleging he did not give full effort, and that only worsened when the team gave him the franchise tag, and it took a long time to finally get him signed.  But he was the one defensive catalyst this team had.  If you look back on the early days of this franchise, if there was a defender that made the big game changing play, it was Brackens.  The team never did replace him. Within this context, Iwould be remiss if I did not give credit to Andre Branch.  Jaguars fans as a whole have been very critical of him, and deservedly so.  He's made little impact throughout his tenure here.  However, today, his forced fumble, recovery, and return of a TD absolutely changed the momentum of this game.  That play looked like the manifestation of a team that was sick and tired of being sick and tired.   It was a Brackensesque performance from him, as he made impact and hustle on other plays.  He showed what this team, especially this year, has been missing.  Good job, Branch!

4.  Telvin Smith was all over the place today!  Another awesome performance from him.

5.  Hope T.J. Yeldon is okay.  He had a good performance prior to his injury.  He showed good balance and patience, and had an outstanding blitz pickup.  But Denard Robinson was no slouch himself today.  As a runner, he seems to hit the hole with more authority and explosion.  He needs to hold onto the ball better, though.

6.  Another Jekyll and Hyde performer today with Jonathan Cyprien.  The last Indy scoring drive was due, in large part, to Cyprien getting faked out along the sideline, allowing what would have been a play short of the first down deep inside Clot territory to turn into a big, field flipping play.  That play triggered profanity from me.  However, I was thrilled to see his INT.  I was rooting like heck for him to score.  He needs more consistency, but that was nice.

7.  Good to see Hurns bounce back from the concussion.

8.  He hasn't done too much as a receiver, but man has Rashad Greene had a huge impact as a punt returner.  Another great mid round pick by Caldwell!

9.  One thing I am less than happy about is Myers, who missed ANOTHER extra point.  I'm glad the team won in a blow out, because that miss could have haunted us, again.  He did hit the 40+ yarder, which triggered the free sub, but I swear I don't know how many more misses of extra points I can take.

10.  Bottom line:  Some Colts fans will probably grouse and whine about us running up the score.  SCREW the Colts and their fans!!! That team had some butt kickings coming, and man did this game feel good after an ugly start.

Greene did ok at receiver but he's a 4/5th guy. But you're spot on, his special teams play is incredible, I can't remember the last time we had a special teams ace.

I can... Ace Sanders duh.

I sincerely hope this was sarcasm. Or you remember a different ace sanders than me?
Ill agree with #6. The Jekyll and Hyde act with Cyp is getting increasingly frustrating. Theres been too many players fitting that bill this season. Cyp, Myers, Branch, Brown, Wiz. Myers and Branch need to go. One amazing game does not a season make.

I think we would have been talking about the phantom pass interference penalty that sustained a drive for us early if not for the second half crush.  Colts fans can be ticked about us running up the score all they want.  Bradley did it for his young team in my opinion.  After a season of disappointment, he wanted to give them momentum to close out the year.

I'm not on the Gus Bus and have been critical of him overall, but, today he proved me wrong.  I hope he can stick it to fans like me going forward.

Edit:

At the start of the second half, I was starting to believe we were in the running for the first overall pick again.

You said special teams ace. His name was ace. He was just making a joke Wink

Yeah, that did appear to be a bad call, my guess is it was meant to make up for a lot of holding calls on the colts they had been letting go. The colts defenders were all over our guys early.
The mood after the first half ended was ugly. The bad snap brought nightmares of last week.

Upper with the Branch TD return then the downer with myers missing. He was soundly booed by MOST of the stadium.

All around the whole stadium was in a very bad way.

Then it was like another team was bused in.

Defense starting kicking butts, Offense scored, then scored again....mood lifted.....then  AGAIN?

where did these guys come from?

Heck after the first touchdown everybody wanted to go for two instead of myers kicking...but he made it and the next two extra pAT!

The fourth quarter the clots just folded. Clots fans disappeared and the Jags kept rolling.

i can't remember the last time I've seen a second half like that.

Team scored every time they had the ball....and Greene blazed the turf for another TD.

I don't know what happened at haltime but this team decided to finally play football and let the OTHER team try to keep up.

I'm proud of them....way to roll Jaguars.
I would also like to give kudos to Jordan Tripp.  I don't remember when Miami cut him or when we signed him, but the run defense did okay with him.  There were more 4 yard gains today, and part of the success against the run had to do with Gore being finished, but there weren't the colossal breakdowns there were against Tampa.

A.J. Cann also seemed to have a good game.  I felt good about that pick when it was made, and overall, he has performed well.  When Linder returns, the G position will be in good shape-I would estimate the best pair of guards in the division.

I wish we had an answer for T.Y. Hilton.

The answer to TY Hilton is the pass rush. Once the Jaguars can stop having to blitz keeping guys covered will be easier.

Yes it was sarcasm

I think this was the first ever game we scored 50 points.
The Jags need 3 or more good LEOs for next year.  They have Fowler.  Do you offer Branch a medium contract?  Do you let him test FA?  They will have Chris Smith for another year or so on his rookie deal.   What about Ryan Davis?

Not counting the Miami playoff game I think this is the first time we scored 50.
Crap. I got so disgusted with their play that I let the girls talk me into going shopping. I was keeping up with occasional glances on my phone and couldn't believe what I was seeing. I didn't record it either, dang it. Stoopid Jaguars!

Wow. Impressive win for Jax.
Thank you, Gus.

Colts fans are in meltdown mode...as is their team.

There was a time not too long ago where a loss to the Jaguars meant a loss of the head coach's job.

Given the acrimony between Grigson and Pagano, and given the Colts giving up 45 to Pittsburgh and 51 to us in back to back embarrassing losses, I'm thinking Pagano, and maybe Grigson, need to update their resumes.

If Irsay had a functional brain Grigson would have been gone after the worst trade in the history of the NFL.
