Quote:It's sort of the same thing as there being posters on the board that think a guy that threw 35 TDs in a season is a Gabbert level bust.
box score volume stats dont mean anything lol Im baffled youre still on this
Quote:Obviously you can't count because you may have given your flawed explanation twice. Romo is not a fit for this team. It's ridiculous to think so. It's flat-out stupid.
Any QB is a fit for this team given what we have there

You keep telling yourself that. It doesn't make it true.
Quote:Key words.

Exactly. That's why I wouldn't trust him here. You'd have to design certain plays to get the football out of his hands very quickly. I don't care where he ends up. Anytime he takes a hit or goes down during a home game the crowd will hold it's breath for sure.

He did have one hell of a stretch between 2011 - 2014. At least on the stat sheet he did. I could see the point of some fans here if we were in a position like Denver or the tinhorns. Where we clearly have a Superbowl caliber defense just in desperate need of a capable QB.

But that's not us right now. And, if you bring him here you're essentially telling the fanbase and the rest of the NFL that Bortles isn't the guy. And you can't bench him in favor of someone like Romo and then decide to go back to him in 2018, etc.

Our future at QB is either right now in Bortles or it's going to be found later on in either this draft or next year's draft.

Yes yes, we know, garbage time, box score, blah blah blah.

It's why the top TD throwers in the league are constantly epic bust level QBs, right?

Why isnt it true? Is having a better quarterback than blake not a good thing?

constantly? no. But outliers exist. Watching blake play on a regular basis, he looks like an outlier.

Good grief you're dense.

He's thrown 58 TDs over the past two seasons. Call it whatever you want, but clearly he's not what some of the bib brigade around here characterizes him as.

His volume stats dont mean anything. Like literally nothing. Just watch him play. Hes bad at football.

Im not. Im just trying put this simply.

Romo is a better QB than blake by far. Id rather have that than not.

Hate to break it to you but Fragile Romo is NOT better than Bortles currently or ever in the future.

Put Romo behind our line and he wouldn't last a quarter without snapping his neck.

I've watched him play, and I've watched terrible QBs play. He's not one of them. He's just not good enough for the bib brigade. Hopefully Tom Brady walks in the door soon because that's what it would take to suit them.
Surprised no one has thrown this around. If we're that concerned about Romo's health and not being a fit here. And if we are willing to take a chance on someone as old and brittle as him at the QB position. Why the hell don't we just fork over the No. 4 overall pick and next year's first round pick to Washington for Kirk Cousins and be done with it then?

Kirk's been one of the better QB's over the last two years on a team that has limited or banged up options in the backfield and on the receiving end. And his defense has been hit or miss. And that's in an NFC East division that's a lot tougher than ours. Surely he could make things work given the talent he'd have on offense.

Just throwing that out there. If you're going to make a clean break from Bortles you might as well take the QB that's been proven over the last two years and has managed to play 32 games. He's more careful with the football and he's more accurate with it as well.

Ok

but if he doesnt get hurt hes far better than Blake

so even if theres a 1% chance he doesnt break his back here, id take that chance if it meant not starting blake.

He's having a difficult time comprehending that, hence my dense comment.

The best ability is availability.

Really...REALLY...dumb.

Kirk is a middle of the pack QB and not good enough to hang with any good teams without a perfect situation around him. Oh and he also wants to get paid the biggest contract ever. So keep that. If you wana use the pick on a QB take one in the draft.

Not when he's getting $15M to sit on the sidelines in a full-body cast.
