Youre not really explaining anything or adding anything to this conversation. Break it down for me if its so clear.

I've added my exact thoughts to this conversation several posts back, which was the first one that you replied to, if you can't remember that far back. Your complete disdain for Bortles however, keeps you from seeing what a horrendous idea it would be to pursue Romo. So we'll just leave it there.
Quote:Kirk is a middle of the pack QB and not good enough to hang with any good teams without a perfect situation around him. Oh and he also wants to get paid the biggest contract ever. So keep that. If you wana use the pick on a QB take one in the draft.
I agree with you on Kirk as well, but we are on the opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to Bortles. Yes, he had an "off" year compared to his outstanding campaign in his 2nd year - but we can not ditch him on some impulsive reaction.
If that were the case, the Giants would have let go of Eli, Steelers cutting Roethlisberger, etc, etc.

Ive already acknowledged that though.
Yeah hes injury prone, but if he manages to just stay upright then its fine. He probably wont, all signs point that way, but why not take a risk. Its not like we stand to gain anything starting Blake Osweiler for another year and wasting everyones time. And if tony breaks his back day one well then we still have blaine bortles to step up.

I just dont agree that his 2nd year was outstanding.

3rd in overall pass completions in 2016.
3rd in overall passing yardage in 2016.
3rd in yards per pass attempt in 2016.
5th in game winning drives in 2016 with 4 come from behind victories.
6th in overall pass attempts in 2016.
7th in overall passer rating in 2016.
11th in overall touchdown passes in 2016.
That was with a defense that was ranked 19th overall in points allowed with a lack luster running game and a sub par receiving core that relied on an oft injured Jordan Reed to set the tone in the passing game.
If Cousins is "middle of the pack" i'll take it. Especially here in Jacksonville with the talent we have in the receiving core along with a defense that's only getting better by the day.

Are you serious?
It was basically his rookie year and he threw for 4,428 yards, 35 TDs, 18 INTs, and an 88.2 QB rating. Don't forget that he was basically the most sacked QB that year by a mile.
I know you will say that the stats don't mean anything, but how the hell will you compare players? I know, I know, the "eye test" but there is a reason why people who are employed by franchises and networks rely on statistics.
I mean, if you expect some 2nd year QB to tear it up like Brady, you will NEVER be satisfied - and I can guarantee that at the least. Maybe jump ship to the Pats bandwagon while they have him?

Whether anybody likes it or not, I think it's pretty clear what's most likely going to happen this coming season at the QB position.
Bortles is going to get every chance to flat out sink, or swim this year. There's nothing in FA and I don't see any QBs in the draft being able to beat him out. Some decent looking developmental guys, but they're exactly that.
Next year's QB class looks to be much better than this year's class. Find out which Bortles is the real Bortles this coming year. Is he Closer to the 2015 one, or closer to the 2016 one.
That's where we're at and personally don't see it really changing. You have to really make sure Bortles is, or isn't that guy. I'd rather wait one year too long and find it he isn't really the guy, rather than cut him a year early and have him flourish with his next team.
Quote:It's sort of the same thing as there being posters on the board that think a guy that threw 35 TDs in a season is a Gabbert level bust.
In Romo's case, it's people hoping for the best and not preparing for the worst.
In Bortle's case, it's people who are eager to believe the worse and don't believe in letting one right the ship.

Once again. Makes zero sense, especially with what it will cost. And your cute little nicknames...as I said...show the underlying reason.
