Sunday the Panthers became the first NFL team to clinch a playoff berth. They won the NFC South title when Atlanta lost to Tampa Bay beat defeated New Orleans.

In the AFC, New England was supposed to get in with a win and Steelers or Chiefs loss, but lost to Philadelphia. I guess that means the Patriots will get in next week.

Cool
Here is what the playoffs would be if they were tomorrow:

This graphic updates after games are played, so all except the Cowboys and Redskins records are through 13 weeks.

What is your point? That does not mean anything.

But the playoffs are NOT tomorrow, so this really means nothing because a lot can change in 4 weeks of football.

And people talk about where we would pick if the draft was tomorrow . . .

If the link I posted did not mean anything, I never would have looked at it.

Why in the world would the draft be tomorrow?

You make no sense. The draft is next year and the playoffs do not start tomorrow.

Tackle stats are meaningless. If they wasn't then I wouldn't have looked at them.

Learn how to read my posts. It should be obvious to you what I meant by IF the playoffs were tomorrow.

Apparently I am the only poster who has any interest in playoff scenarios that do not involve the Jaguars because the link I posted is a very important part of the discussion.

I look at that page frequently. It just shows what playoffs currently look like.

I wish they would post articles about most scenarios. I'd like that.

Example:

Cincinnati wins the AFCN this week with WIN vs Pitt.

That kind of stuff.

Sometimes I do see that. Unfortunately the NFL does not show it every day, which is annoying. This week it is "win and you're in" for the Cardinals, Patriots, and Bengals.

What teams can do to get playoff spots and more in Week 14:

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000...or-week-14

NFC

Panthers
clinched the NFCS title. They can clinch a first-round bye with a win or losses by the Packers
and Vikings
.

Cardinals
clinch playoff berth with a win or Buccaneers
and Packers
losses

Cardinals
clinch division title with a win and Seahawks
loss.

AFC

Patriots
clinch playoff berth with a win, or Steelers
loss or Jets
loss

Patriots
clinch AFCE title with a win and Jets
loss.

Broncos
clinch playoff berth with a win and Steelers
or Jets
loss

Broncos
clinch the AFCW title with a win and Chiefs
loss.

Bengals
clinch a playoff berth with a Jets
loss or Chiefs
loss. They clinch the AFCN title with a win.

Looks like a Jets loss this week helps out Pats, Broncos, and Bengals. Interesting.

If the Jets lose, Pats and Bengals automatically get in.

Broncos still need a Win plus the Jets loss. I guess that the Pats automatically would qualify because they're in the same division as NYJ.

I hope the Bengals beat the Steelers. The Steelers look like the most dangerous team to me if they make it in the playoffs. I could see them getting to the Superbowl. I would hate that. I despise Steelers.

Of course, I'll probably pick the Steelers to win this week. They are looking real good.
MissJag....have you taken my word yet that the Falcons are trash?

The Broncos don't need the Jets to lose. A Steelers loss would have the same effect. Neither of those games will matter anyway if the Chiefs lose.

I know they don't NEED them to lose. I think it's interesting that if the Jets DO lose it helps all those teams.

I am surprised you chose to ask me that here and now. I did not say anything about the Falcons having a chance at the playoffs.

Yeah it seems kinda weird to think one team can help three others but not itself.

Broncos need to keep winning for playoff seeding implications, trying to get that first round bye or the homefield #1 seed.

They should beat the Raiders (although any given Sunday, you know).

But they have 2 tough games after that also:

@ PITT

vs Cincy

That Cincy vs Denver game is going to be HUGE for playoff seeding. It could possibly determine which team gets a first round bye or not.

Cincy has to have that first round bye IMO. If they have to play WC weekend vs Steelers,Chiefs,Texans they'll most likely lose again.

Lol. We'll find out this weekend won't we?

You might not want to label them as straight trash yet. If they somehow beat Carolina, then you'll have to admit the Panthers got beat by a "straight trash" team. Hahahaha

If the Panthers lose to Atlanta, what will that mean about Carolina?

Hahahahaha

I'm just messing with you
